I'm not asking when, I'm asking if.

I noticed today that yesterday (March 29) was the 3rd anniversary of the publication of the last published NXE story, Exodus 3:9, The Blood-Dimmed Tide. The ending of that story could have been "the end", or it could have been a "to be continued". As I noted, however, it has been 3 years... (which isn't any sort of record - it was something like 6 years between parts 3 and 4 of Hopelessly Lost)

So, I'm asking if - if there are additional NXE stories somewhere in the pipeline, or if that was it?

Sure. I've got... (squint) ... 241,543 bytes of Neon Exodus Evangelion: The Motion Picture in the works-in-progress bin right now. Symphony of the Sword ate my brain, but I intend to finish it one of these days...

And don't anyone even THINK about pointing out the material which claimed Fall Winter... it kinda violates rule 1, for one, and for two... well, haven you ever had a project that slipped its deadline no matter how hard you might have tried to keep it on track?

Did the material which claimed 'fall/winter' state a year? If not, there's a loophole. :)

But three years? Yikes..I knew it had been a couple of years, but..

Well, I for one can say that whenever it *does* get finished, I'll probably still be up to read it.

On an entirely unrelated note, does anybody have any idea how much it might cost to get te entirety of UF, NXE, and HL printed out, double sided, formatted so nothing's really wonky, in good quality with decent paper, punched, collated, etc, to put in several large binders (or even bound properly, since I'm certain this is already into the theoretical realm of 'when I have a few thousand bucks to kill') for easy addition of new segments as they're filled in?

One feels to own such a collection, even if one had them made onesself, would be incredibly cool. (Not to mention making good use of that bookcase that always ends up holding nothing more literary than birthday and christmas cards. I know you have one. I can't be the only one.)

No, but the Symphony No. 1 Perfect Memory Album (which was as you describe) was about $40 a copy, and required a truly startling number of man-hours to get right.

You'll need about 12 reams(500 sheet packs) of paper, preferably prepunched.
I used seven 2-inch binders, seven 1-inch binders, and a 3-inch binder(NXE).
The breakdown is:
UF:Core, UF:GA, UF:Exile, UF:FI, SoS1, SoS2, SoS3 in 2-inch binders
Redneck:Wilderness, UF:FI:Twilight, UF:FI:WotOR, WL, Serendipity, and Robotech:The Misfold in 1-inch binders. Also, .45 and GL are in one 1-inch binder.
NXE is in one 3-inch binder, which was a bad idea, as it makes it difficult to read easily.

I printed these out over the course of about 40 hours, on an HP printer, with duplexer.

I can't remember how long it took me to actually think of that drawing; that part of the whole process always depends on how loudly the muse is screaming in your ear. *wl*

Typically, I give myself an hour to pencil something on 9x12 drawing paper. Then another hour on the lightbox to ink it. Longer if it's one of those really intricate and complex things I tend to lose patience with. ^_-;

And once you get to the Photoshop stage, again, it depends greatly on how complex the thing ends up being. (And I can't take credit for the PS work on this particular image since it was before I had the software. Phil gets the credit for that one; he was the one who knew what he was doing at the time. ;) )

Yeah, I've been tempted to do that now and again myself.

Actually, what I've been -really- tempted to do is find a good way to get PageMaker to do 16-page signatures and set it up in there so that I can print it out TPB-size instead of binder-size. Now -that- would rock.

TPB = Trade Paberback, the only way to find new copies of Diamond Age and Snow Crash nowadays, which totally negates my clothing scheme, since nothing short of my backpack has the space to carry those, so no more carrying books like that in my jean pockets -_-

Yeah. My own plan was, basically, to print on standard 8.5x11 paper, in landscape mode, so that it folds over and you end up with a volume 8.5" tall by 5.5" across. The key is formatting it so that it prints in nice signatures that I can do this with, then get bound...

(The joys of having free laser printing at the office...)

Hey ya folks. Good to be back, I'll explain my absence in another post.

After reading this thread, I must say, I am quite interested in doing the same myself. That is, when I get my own ink-jet printer. =p And I'll probably have to replace the ink cartridge a couple of times too. Mental note: make sure that the individual colors can be replaced as in Canon printers.

Microsoft Word is good for this sort of task as it have your printer run the odd pages first, then the even ones, thus making it easy to coalate with a regular printer without an unbearable amount of hassle. So any decent inkjet will suffice. I know because I've done a similar thing before. Little brothers who like fanfic but can't read it for themselves can be a bit of a pain.

TechMav? I do have one question. About how much did all that cost you?
