WOW! incredible, incredible work.. I was cackling in quite a few bits, and the ONLY thing that disturbs me is the thought that the release of such an.. apothesis (ba-dum *tish*) could prove damaging to future literary efforts.Aside from that, I'm still flying high, aided by chosen recreational chemicals. (fatigue and hunger poisons, wheee) Nit: That Russian Girl, whassername. Poor dear got very little screen time, but was very effective in using what she got. Nit: uhm. Durandal went out a bit too quietly, in my opinion. Sure, we've got our suspicions, but VERY little evidence, especially given his penchant for being arcane and impenetrable. Nit: Why'd Dan convert? I just didn't get it. Minor nit, 'cause that sort of conversion (Enemy - Ally) is almost an Eyrie 'trademark' by now : ) Note: Musical Scoring was fairly well done, I wish I had tracked my music selections during the read, my playlist held up well. Note: ""ANTI-MATTER BEAM?!" Ikari blurted, rising to his feet and wiping at his mouth with the back of his sleeve. "Kirishatov mounted a DOUBLE-BARRELLED POSITRON ACCELERATOR on that monster?!"" Wonderful. WONDERFUL. Gendou Ikari as a hippie scientist. for some reason, his redemption has been one of the shining points of the _entire_ work of Eyrie Productions, in my experience. Not just the NXE universe. Note: Star of David, natch. *chortle* Note: And it's DJ Croft with the assist and SHINJI IKARI coming out of nowhere with the SCORE! GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!! Thank you, gryphon. Thank you, Eyrie.
...I'mma go eat something and pass out now. -- Kokuten Daysleeper RCW #13013 (Insert Witticism Here)

>Nit: That Russian Girl, whassername. Poor dear got very little screen >time, but was very effective in using what she got. Marina Kirishatova, who is based very, very loosely on (really more like "inspired by") Mana Kirishima, the Rival Giant Robot Organization pilot from Neon Genesis Evangelion: Iron Maiden (sometimes hilariously mistranslated as Girlfriend of Steel). The whole Soviet Special Defense Force angle really sprang out of nowhere. The scene in Professor Kirishatov's office jumped out as the first thing I did toward the movie, leaving me looking at it and going, "OK... I'm not sure how this fits in, but I'll hopefully figure it out as I go, because I like these characters too much to leave them out." :) >Nit: uhm. Durandal went out a bit too quietly, in my opinion. Why draw attention? He had an agenda, and it didn't involve anybody's help running around flipping switches for once, so he figured he might as well get on with it. >Nit: Why'd Dan convert? He didn't like the looks of SEELE's retirement plan. >Note: Star of David, natch. *chortle* Not quite; a Star of David is two triangles formed into a star. The Seal of Solomon is that inside a circle. They're related symbols, very closely related, but the distinction is important in this context. --G. -><- Benjamin D. What can I say? Good work, guys. A nice, long read, capturing everything I love about Eyrie fics and delivering it to me in well-measured qualities over a few hours. The tension, the laughs, the nice warm fuzzies, the skillfully-used pathos and of course, the ass-kicking. The only way to make the experience seem more like watching a movie would be for me to wait a month before reading it, in the meantime having to suffer commentaries and spoilers from every corner of the Web I visit. Meagen - Matrix: Reloaded comes out on the 23rd. Bitter? No sirre.

I've not long finished reading it through (to myself and to my good lady Sarah, it only took about 10 hours including a break for dinner). I've been an NXE fan for about four years; it was my route into Eyrie and fanfiction in general. I am in awe. We both are actually. Sarah is still giggling slightly.Apotheosis Now is was everything that could be asked for from the NXE finale, and more. Moments to make you laugh, and make you cry. And possibly the single best use of the Top Gun Anthem I've ever seen :-) (Sarah would also like to point out that she loves Truss' line about "piddling little H-bomb"s) To the Gryphon, Larry, Truss, Megazone and Anne, I'd like to say thank you for some of the most enjoyable reading of my life over the last few years. And with output of UF not showing signs of slowing, here's to the next few years ;-) -- Howard Johnson (Merlin The Happy Pig weekends and by appointment)
