Are the Very last two lines of the movie
part of the In Nomine books?

The battle is won.
The war is not over.

and the person Hal was talking to at the start

I may be wildly inaccurate, but I doubt that in any context you could describe King Stephen as "a teenage girl in striped pajamas". <grin> Especially not one who wants to meet DJ.

The first time I read the passage, I puzzled for a moment then moved on, trusting Gryphon to clue us in. He did, but I didn't assemble those clues until I read it to Peggy the next morning, and she wanted to know who it was. So we stopped and figured it out. Here's the chain of logic we used:

First off, teenaged girl who a) has MIB access to NERV computing resources and b) wants to meet DJ, as noted above. (Leaving aside the desire to meet DJ, it can't be Amy, since Hal mentions Amy by name.) She is also at a third location distant from both Worcester-3 and Halifax, judging from the questions she asks and the statements she makes.

Next, observe the user address at the top of the chat session: "mnk@MIB_REMOTE{dss!mib!xcom!su}". Now, "mnk" could conceivably be Misato, but Misato ain't a teenage girl either, no matter how good she looks.

Finally, note the bang path in the address -- the final term is "su": "Soviet Union".

Teenaged girl with initials "mnk" who lives in the Soviet Union adds up to Marina Nikolayevna Kirishatova.

Were they an indication that NXE is, perhaps, not over?

No.

Neon Exodus Evangelion is, except for the fiddly bits we're working up for "disc 2" of the "DVD release", over. The Great Redemption is complete, the story of NERV and its struggle against Natlateth finished.

When celestials speak of the War with a capital W, they refer to the essential struggle between Good and Evil which has raged since the Fall.

The War never ends.

Well, that's what I thought. But, hey, after AN, you can't blame a guy for hoping, can you?
