Would you like the small-scale models they use for long shots, the "rubber costume" ones from the action scenes, or the full-scale mockups of various parts they use whenever they need to show humans interacting with them?

Small proposition:

1) Set up a poll somewhere to choose the readers' favorite sequence

--> Side remark: "everything" is not an option. Select something short.

2) Try to put the sequence in the form of a movie-like synopsis. Have Gryph
rant / cut / reshape it.

3) Throw a collective effort at drawing, inking, scanning and coloring the
thing

4) Edit it, add sound

5) Show it to Gryph and hear him scream in the night in disbelief?

hmm, i always thought a flash anime of nxe would be nice. gotta be a damn good artist tho. pity i cant draw a stick man without it looking wrong :/

'Tis a shame indeed. I certainly would love to see a couple of action scenes brought to wonderful, beautiful animation. *Sighs* Too bad there's not a surplus of animators who'd do something like this on a whim for nothing but the sheer fun of it. Not that it's an easy job. =p

We start with recruitment of people who know their shit. Me, I don't know anything about flash animation, so I can probably be counted out.

Not unless you guys need some web space. I got a little less than fifty-megs free in my acount, and it is, for the most part, pop-up free.

Hell I'm up for a challenge. I'll help.

I don't know anything about flash animation but I have been teaching myself Maya 4.0 for the past year. I have been focusing mostly on Modeling techniques and a little texturing/Rendering. But I haven't touched animation, lighting, or dynamics though. But I do know someone who can do lighting pretty well and he might be willing to help on his free time. (He's busy trying to get himself into Gnomon right now so he's working on his portfolio.)

No, I don't have a problem with fanart. I like fanart. I would probably like a really well-done animation sequence, too - I'm just kind of slack-jawed at the thought of people spending perfectly good time of theirs making one... making animation ain't like dustin' crops, boys.

Okay, that thread was starting to get a bit out of hand...

Where shall we move this to? I got an ezboard that's collecting dust, but I'm not a gold member so it has a bit of a problem with pop-ups (This is usually solved quite readily by a nice, simple ad-free freeware pop-up blocker called Pow! by Analog X). I'll gladly get it set up if you guys want to move in there.
