Captain Barraclough plowing through USS William S. Cohen in 3:9, complete with a dropped 'Curacoa' reference. :) Were NXE ever to make it to the big screen, the image of the Queen Mary's bow looming in at flank speed on top of the destroyer would be the money 'gotcha' shot at the end of the trailer.

During World War II, the Queen Mary (the same ship, today docked in Long Beach and used as a hotel/convention center) was being used as a troop transport. While approaching the British Isles, she began a series of zigzag maneuvers after someone reported sighting a German submarine. One of her escorts, the cruiser HMS Curacoa, zigged when she should've zagged, and the Queen Mary cut her in half. Curacoa sank within five minutes. The Queen Mary sailed on with minor bow damage.
