Inside my head, I'm doing that wild take Roger Rabit did at the end of the Maroon Cartoon's short, Tummy Trouble.

A search on Wikipedia has been most illuminating. The original Galatea is a sea nymph in Greek mythology. The most prolific reference in Wikipedia, though, is to Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

Gryphon, you evil person you... Now I am going to be plagued by a craving of the new and upcomming adventures of DJ Croft and company. You really do like to watch us squirm, don't you? ;)
