Will Shinji be doing any EVA Piloting in "Apothesis Now"?

With all the deviataions Gryphon made from the Source Material
why did he decide to end NXE in a cliffhanger ala Anno.

*Doesn't Consider the Movies Cannon and never will*

*Let's his mind drift to thoughts of NXE/Tenchi Xovers. (Ruyoko
and Aekea fight of DJ in their ships while Asuka fries them both with
her EVA's plasma rifle, AT feild vs. Lighthawk Wings I'm nuts)*

I'm making an educated guess: "It's a secret"? (Given "Himitsu Kudasai"="Tell me the secret", it seems logical).

Yeah, I was channelling a very annoying character from one of Truss's favorite shows for some reason...

Somebody beat me to it...

BTW, Xelloss isn't nearly as annoying as his English VA <If I ever get the chance to slap the people responsible for ruining an otherwise acceptible dub I will be a happy man>

Boy... he must be unfathomable in English, then, because I've only watched it subtitled and I loathe him with every fiber of my being. He is the most annoying character in the entire galaxy. Except maybe for Nanami from Revolutionary Girl Utena.

Hmm? Xellos is great. Sure, unfathomable and random, but interesting as all-get-out. He's sort of like the person in a Magic game that, once it's clear that he can't win the match, makes their job trying to throw the existing game balance totally out of whack in any way possible. Nick Yu dubbed people such as this "Chaos Players", and while he finds the behavior annoying, I find it interesting as heck. It's how I play the game, at least. As for the dub... gha.

And to be honest, the cliffhanger of 3:9 annoyed me, too, although in retrospect I'd probably be a lot less rabid about it if DJ'd gotten on the bloody boat, with or without Lucifer. Ah, well. I've got my own ideas about how things are going to end, so I suppose I'll just wait until Apotheosis Now is released and see if I'm right.

I don't think that'd work. After all, ARC-01 is a clone of Pen-Pen... so I suspect that would generate some rather nasty neural feedback.

Hmm. That only supports my suspicion that Pen-Pen is actually a vessel of the Archangel Michael...

Hey! Funny you should mention...

...no, no, I'm joking. Pen-Pen will be too busy piloting Jet Alone.

And in what way does that invalidate my theory? <grin>

I never said that it did. Only that it was funny you should mention that.

I can't tell you why it's funny until the movie is released. :)

Hmm. This throws an interesting spin on things... who would ARC-00 be a clone of, then? Misato? Anubis? Does this mean that there will be giant 'Birds' fighting the Arcangelions, all in an effort to rescue their dread lord Pen-Pen? I can just see Ritsuko and Gendo standing over a lab bench, muttering something to the general effect of "this Bird DNA is 98% the same as penguin DNA"... Will the new NERV slogan be "Pen-Pen's in Misato's fridge, all's right with the world"?

'Kay. I think I've milked that joke just about as far as I can.

Me, I'll just be happy to see someone other than DJ/Lucifer achieve full synchronization (though I'm suspecting that's impossible). Rei/Moloch in 3:8 counts as extrenuating circumstances.

I always assumed Xellos was covering for the fact he really has absolutely no idea what goes on. It'd be a cool twist and very mind warping. Of course, I've yet to watch an episode with him in, but it'd be cool.

To quote Dr. Bubba: "The trick to sounding wise is to say things that sound deep and profound, but are actually just vague and meaningless. See the Sphinx in the movie Mystery Men for a good idea of how this is done."

This has absolutely no bearing on Xellos. It's just a cool quote. Me, I think he knows what's going on, he's just covering for the fact that he doesn't actually have a conspiratorial plan.
