On a whim, I decided to start reading NXE from the beginning, and at the end of 1:1 it said the release date of 1:2 would be 7/9/97. Has it really been ten years since the first episode came out?

Good literature lasts forever--thus why we still read things like Shakespeare, Beowulf and the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Heh, I did the same just a couple days ago, and had much the same realization.

It was rather interesting to realize I was in the fourth grade and probably watching Power Rangers still when this initially came out. Yet it STILL holds up well, even compared to more modern works.

I am re-reading the series and also saw how it is the ten year anniversary. That is a major reason I registered with the forum...to say CONGRATS!!!! It's nice to know I can still come online and read the exploits of old "friends".
