EXT. DAY. EVA-01 careens along a country road.

INT. EVA-01 ENTRY PLUG. GENDOU is in the pilot's seat, but PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL is wearing the interface set and appears to be doing the actual driving.

Gendou: That's not bad for a quadruped.

EXT. DAY. Wide shot; now we can see that the other EVAs are in hot pursuit.

INT. EVA-01 ENTRY PLUG. GENDOU appears delighted.

Gendou: Hey, they're chasing us! C'mon, make it fun.

EXT. DAY. EVA-01 smashes down a fence and lurches violently across open ground, knocking over everything in its path.

INT. EVA-01 ENTRY PLUG.

Gendou: Don't drive angry! Don't drive angry.
