One of the things that keeps popping up in my brain is a desire for a 'random' button.. "Random" Button, allowing one to select a random EPU work, configurable to allow selection/deselection of various sections of UF, and the various other works such as HL, SF:WL, GW, etc. I have no clue about the technical feasability of this, I just think it would be neat. -- Kokuten Daysleeper RCW #13013 (Insert Witticism Here)

It -is- technically feasable, but would probably require a bit too much work, at least as requested. See, a simple random document from directory X isn't too hard, but once categorization gets involved, depending on how things are stored that could get tricky. Imagine, if you will, one monolithic directory for each fic, and that's it. So you can pic one directory to select from, but what about subcategories <admittedly a UF only issue, but still>. The filenames general make no mention of where an item would be filed, so you either have to change the names to reflect their place in the universe, or parse the files a bit to find the important words <e.g. Exile, Future Imperfect, etc>.
