I'm seeing years-old posts, in nearly every subforum, showing up as edited, with no visible change in the posts themselves. Is something wonky happening with DCboard?

I'm seeing the same thing, and it seems like every topic that StaticDashPulse posted in shows as him editing all of his posts.

Yeah, all at about 2:42 this morning. WTF? Did the Forum get hacked?

If so, one has to wonder what the person responsible was trying to accomplish...

I would guess some kind of user database glitch myself (particularly as they all seem to have happened around the same time, apart from the one outlier I noticed a couple days ago and assumed was just a random, weirdly-timed typo correction or something), but that's only a guess. Will refer to the server admin for further investigation.

For the moment, I tend to doubt it's anything malicious, since it doesn't appear as if the posts were edited to vandalize them or anything of the sort.

Sorry you suddenly had to log back in; as part of the ongoing effort to figure out wtf is going on with S-P's account, I zorched all the session files (that being the only cleanup option available).

Oh, well, that explains that. I've just had a note from S-P; it appears that, in a fit of... let's be generous and say "security-consciousness" (rather than a clinical diagnosis that starts with P :)... he felt behooved to seek out posts in which he'd mentioned a particular bit of information and edit that bit out. It seems he didn't realize that doing so would effectively necro all the threads involved.

So there we are - a simple explanation that would never have occurred to me. As he puts it in his note, "nothing was hacked, it was a user who was whacked."

Actually, it was the e-mail that I got, asking me to go through and edit all of MY posts that had said info that had annoyed me.
