It's called Dai-Guard, and it's basically what you get if you drop all the mind-fuck and most of the whining from Evangelion, but keep the Real Wierdie enemies and the background politicking and maneuvering. The first DVD just came out from ADV Films, priced around $30. As Gryphon said of The Big O, it's kicking my ass all over the place. Watching it with the dub sound and subtitles anyway reveals the usual english release whitewashing of the protagonists and ... tarring? ... or the antagonists, but not too terribly badly, nor are the added joke lines too jarring, and the voices (except for one of the borad memebers - yeesh!) are all reasonably close to the originals and usually pretty well acted, so it counts as a good dub as dubs go; good enough that the first time through I'd reccomend wathing it with english dialogue even if you're a sub snob, just so you won't miss any of the gorgous action scenes looking down at the words.Plus, the ending theme won't get out of my head, and I actually _don't_ _mind_ because it's so good. - CD

Dai-Guard sounds like fun from the reviews at http://www.animeondvd.com . I'll prolly pick it up as it is six disks.Megazone, you don't post there anymore it seems...would this be due to the dissolution of the Robotech Forums, or just in general?
