I never was into Marvel Comics or "X-Men" (although I did see the TV series once in a while, and did like the movie), so my enjoyment of this story didn't come from seeing a different take on old friends (several of whom I have never heard of). No, I liked other things the best.

I enjoyed the cameo by the Hartnell (first) Doctor while Piotr and Kurt were watching old British television - was that any particular Dalek episode, or just a generic one?

And The Doctor mentioned fighting against the Cybermen... if The Doctor was the Lord President - would this be a cameo by the Baker (fourth) Doctor? (of course, IIRC his memory of claiming the LP was wiped later in the same episode where he claimed it... oh who cares...) Or maybe the Davison (fifth) Doctor (who got the LP foisted back upon himself without his consent)? Or later?

I take it Alistair Stuart of WHO isn't related to Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart of UNIT.

I'm just catching a clue on this one - if Iron Man is Tony Stark, is that why that one HL story is titled Stark Fist?

I wonder if Don will have to change his name. How commonly remembered is Reika's band (of the post-Ronin era), or that Don Griffin was a prominent member in it? Would you have to be a music-nerd, like Kate, to know that sort of thing?

Of course, this could be an alternate-universe New Avalon, with its own version of the IPO and the First Lensman (hey, that sort of thing has been done in other SI fics <weg>).

As for the message sent back to Professor Xavier, someone's been reading Clarke ^_^ (or watching pretty-looking movies). Still, it's a pretty good line, it's not its fault it's from a mediocre book (which I still thought was better than the movie (which at the time confirmed my thought that actress Helen Mirren was Russian, but that's another story for a different time))

It took me a while to figure out why "Sergeant Rusty Schweickart" was ringing bells in my mind? Would he be any relation to Russell L. "Rusty" Schweickart, LM pilot for Apollo 9?

Regards,
Jeanne
