I believe the sequence I had in mind when I wrote the episode was The Dalek Invasion of Earth, or possibly The Chase. Pretty sure it was the former - I think I had in mind the "We are the masters of Earth. We are the masters of Earth" scene.

Every time so far that Don has run into the Doctor, it's been the seventh one (Sylvester McCoy), accompanied by Ace.

Sort-of-coincidentally. The title's actually a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Stark Fist of Removal, which is a Discordian concept and, as such, ties in with the fact that Dana O'Neill is really Eris.

They're a pretty obscure band by the 25th century. Anybody remembering the name of their second lead guitarist (of four) in the 2400s would be kind of like a modern teenager remembering the name of the guy who played lead alto sax in Benny Goodman's orchestra in 1936.
