Connection, hm...

That would imply that the Time Lords have shed their attitude of "We are Omnipotent, therefore we can afford to lay around stagnantly with our thumbs in a normally uncomfortable place."

Seriously, the only real connection my UF counterpart has with the Time Lords is that they find him interesting. After all, he's only defied several dozen laws of probability. My UF self has no pull over them; he's really only protected by their whim.

Besides, it's not as if UFDoc can go up to Griffin et al., say that they're off by, oh, a dimensional shift of 6.76 atoseconds, twang a superstring or two, and fling 'em home. If Don, an experienced Time Lord, says they can't go, then there's no way in the seven circles of Perdition that UFDoc, whose experience with dimensional travel was at the whim of a bored omnipotent, can do much of anything.

Thankfully, the UF universe is quite a bit more resilient than, say, DC's version of Hypertime. We won't have any incidents of "we must return to the proper timeline before we wreck the multiverse."
