#0, Rah Xephon and ACROSS
Posted by twipper on May-28-03 at 09:39 AM
Got around to watching the first volume of Rah Xephon last night and immediately began to ponder the outcome of a conflict pitting the ACROSS kaiju v. the dhollums (sp?) or Rah Xephon itself. Given the apparent bond between mecha and pilot, I'd wager RX would give even Big O/Corwin a bit of a shakedown.

While not normally a mecha anime fan, RX offered that bit of originality that has allowed for UF's and NXE's sheer entertainment value. Excellent mesh of techno-organic tech.

While Eris is competent, for real Chaos seek Arioch.

Well, congratulations, WengFook. You've refined your content-free posting skills to their ultimate expression. By simply clicking "reply with quote" and then clicking "post message", you've reached the nirvana of the content-free poster: a reply with nothing added but your .sig.

The bad news is that there's nowhere to go from here. You've reached the pinnacle of skill. From here you'll either have to stop posting altogether or return to your previous, flawed method.

I never liked the entire comparision of Mecha performance between series much, mostly due to seeing how it could go either way - Besides, this is Corwin and Ayato we're talking about, both of whom have pretty good brains inside thier noggins - they'd probably knock over whatever threat was tromping around together, then go out and have a pizzia pie or two to celebrate.

Coming from someone who's in the process of watching the entire series, it's like Eva, only better. No, seriously. It's got all of the creamy, wholesome charachter interacting goodness, only without that special, Anno Hideiki Suicidal Depressive Spice to gum up the works. I mean, people actually -work out thier problems-. How cool is that?

And it's got the main charachter macking on an older woman. Rwor!

Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? I mean, Ayato seems to be continually macking on Reika Mishima, whose real identity is...you know. (Or is he macking on Quon? I can never tell what's with the two...)

--Firefly
Maybe the reason Ayato's got it together is 'cause he's older and is generally a well-balanced individual...

Not really. I never saw much going on between Ayato and Mishima. (Though depending on how far you've gotten in RahXephon, I suppose that stance could be taken...) Needless to say, Haruka has it -bad- for Ayato.

And Quon's entire purpose in RahXephon is to walk around and do weird shit. Sometimes, she will even walk around doing weird shit whilst wearing a pink bra and undies, thereby satisfying the fanservice quotient during the episodes where the main cast does not go out to the locale beach and hang out. (Ah, the wonders of having an anime series on a -tropical- -island-...)

I've only seen up to volume 2 (ie, up to ep 9) and that seems apparent, and I think I can guess the circumstances. (It's the alien's fault, essentially.)

Basically, Quon is like Ambassador Kosh, only cuter.

Of cource. It's what they're there for.

Except that Kosh made sense around half the time.

Note that any character in an anime that can be related to Kosh is a character I will like, and have to see.
