#0, Hikaru and Azalynn
Posted by WengFook on Aug-04-03 at 09:46 AM

Recently I have had to good opportunity to read both
Magic Knight Rayearth and Love Hina Manga's. :)

I just have two observations about them in the UF
universe.

1) Writing Hikaru as a Salusian must have been a
complete no-brainer given the number of times she appears
with two "primary" ears in the original story.

2) I can see how Azalynn's character was based of Koalla
Su :) They both have a bit of "little girl" immatureness
in them. They both are always smiling and happy no matter
the circumstances. :)

Just my 1 cent :)

Yeah, that was more or less where that came from. (And she's Kumbari because her cat ears are always white. :)

This, however, is a coincidence; as I've noted before, Azalynn only resembles the Love Hina character visually (and that not completely). I haven't seen anything of the LH story itself, so I have no particular idea how that character acts.

I have heard Kaolla Su described as "the unholy love child of Washuu and Mihoshi". If that helps any.

If by "helps" you mean "fills me with fearful disgust and makes me eye poor Azalynn dubiously for her implied similarity," then, yes, that's very helpful, thanks.

Azalynn is almost completely un-like Su in any non-visual way. The girl in the anime is a hyperactive child with no sense of personal space who happens to be able to create robots. Azalynn doesn't seem very much like that.

I haven't seen the anime, just the manga. I get the feeling that Su and Azalynn also move (physically) in similar ways, albeit at different speeds (most of the time anyway). But yes, that's definitely where the similarities end...

True, but as a coincidence both are veerry
free with their kisses :)

I wouldn't say Azalynn is FREE with here kisses...though she happens to kiss quite a few people, she won't kiss just anyone; and from what I've seen, there's a certian level of friendship and respect, not to mention willingness from the other party, requisite for any level of physical intimacy. Azalynn requires a certian level of freedom with her sexual energies..but that freedom doesn't extend over other people's boundaries. For her, physical intimacy is just another facet of expressing one's emotions.

Compare that to Su's attitude: "I don't think a kiss is anything special."

Hey, that was my wife!

Er... that sounds wrong. I mean to say, it was my wife who said that, and I quoted her in a spamfic that showed that very scenario.

My apologies -- I knew there was a page on the web somewhere that documented the source of the phrase, but I was too lazy to go look it up.
