#0, Talkshoe Robotech/fandom show...seeking guests

Hey there. Remember me?

I've started doing a Talkshoe.com radio show about Robotech fandom. I've done three shows so far, during which I've talked with Robotech fans old and new about how they got into Robotech, what they think of the new stuff, and various aspects of the show and its fandom.

Anyway, I would really like to have some of the Eyrie people as guests on the show. Particularly those who contributed segments for Misfold (which I would like to start up again at some point, by the way, if I can find someone who can administer a Wiki for it), and/or were active participants (or the administrator) in the old Robotech mailing lists. But the focus of the show was always intended to be broader than just Robotech, and I'd love the chance to discuss the Undocumented Features and other Eyrie works as well.

The three episodes I've done so far can be found on the show's homepage. (The times on the first two shows are correct, but the third show is not 6:50 long, it's "only" about four and a half hours.) I'm going to have another show this Friday, wherein I interview long-time Robotech fan and fanfic writer Peter Walker, and I've got interviews with other Robotech fan/writers Amy Borden and Dave Deitrich on the horizon. You can listen via streaming audio or podcast download from that page; to participate you just need to register, download their free chat client, and optionally be able to use a telephone or Skype to dial in.

I really hope we can set something up. I'd love to have the chance to interview y'all.

Wow, another author appears from the mists. Since you have stated an intention to continue work on the misfold series, do you have any plans to contribute new material to UF? Your stories were some of the best of the original arc, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wonders what happened to your characters, and possibly even offspring of such :)

I'm really here, but I'm not here, really.

Sadly, there's been just so much written for UF that I feel somewhat overwhelmed at the very idea of continuing. Hell, I'm sure that my half-written final UF story that I never finished (and likely lies mouldering on some floppy disk somewhere) probably contradicts half the canon that's come since then. But thanks for the kind words!

If you want to read more of the stuff I've written elsewhere, you can find links to it from the fiction section of my homepage; also I've been writing a bunch of City of Heroes fanfic for the RP Congress roleplaying collective.

Hey, Chris, are you still out there?

And if so, are you still interested in EPU guests?

It's not really very complicated. The way it works is that we set up a day and time for you to come on the show (a few days in advance so I can publicize it) and then at the appointed time you call in and I interview you with questions I come up with beforehand, and then anyone else who's called into the show will be unmuted for a panel-style discussion.

You can call in either with a TalkShoe account of your own (it's free to sign up) or on one of my guest accounts, and you can call using either an ordinary telephone (long distance charges to Pittsburgh will apply) or VoIP (Gizmo, SJPhone, X-Lite, etc.). If you have your own account, you can also use TalkShoe's chat client to hang out in TalkShoe's chatroom with other listeners while we talk.

What would be a good day and time for you?
