Out of curiosity, though, why no drain trap under the sink? I get that it may not be required there is you can put one in remotely - so long as it comes before the drain enters the vented portion of the system...

...But personally, I'd like to have one immediately under the sink myself, because I'm a klutz and prone to dropping stupidly important objects... especially in places that are difficult to get at.
