Heh. Seems very representative of the role G played in Remilia's slumber for the beginning of their relationship anyway. And the role he often plays at Saint Ulrich for that matter.

Also, I see that as the pose, if not the outfit, that Remilia had when she first appeared at Saint Ulrich outside G's window.

Still does, for the most part! That might change after the wedding, but probably not radically, most of the time. :)

I pictured her with her arms folded across her chest, but the stance is definitely right.

I know you said this was inspired by Corduroy (the book), but this has been my mental image of Theodore for a while now:-

It took Gryphon ages to do his little hat.

Ha, that works! The reference to Corduroy was really just a wink to the materials involved, anyway; the bear isn't meant to look like the one in the book. Swap in a few more obviously improvised bits (the eyes and nose, for instance, are presumably not bespoke stuffed-bear parts), and you're there. I thought about mentioning that he's wearing wire pince-nez (as TR was wont to do), but decided that would reduce huggability to an unacceptable degree.

>It took Gryphon ages to do his little hat.

Heh, and now I'm picturing Remi's bemusement as she tries to figure out what the bit he's working on is without interrupting him by asking. :)

(Also, I would totally buy that bear, but if I backtrack to the top level of the website, I can't find it in the catalog, alas.)

Alas, this is a discontinued bear, which might be the saddest phrase in the English language. You can find it through other third-party retailers though. Here's a link to one via reputable department store Selfridges for your purchasing pleasure, though I don't know what international shipping is going to be like beyond the usual "eye-wateringly expensive".

I highly recommend Jellycat (the original manufacturers) as purveyors of friends. They have a huge variety of friends both conventional and not - one of my personal favourites is their adorable Stanley Slug, whose tagline on the store is, and I swear I'm not making this up,

"The slug life chose him".

You can't get better than that, can you. =]

Not too terrible as these things go. Slightly more than the toy itself actually cost, but given that it's quite reasonably priced to begin with, I'll take it. I've seen a lot worse.

I just accidentally knocked Remi off the table and discovered that her hat comes off. This means I have access to a pink mob cap scaled for stuffed toys. I may use this power for evil at some point.

In my defense, I haven't slept properly in several days and things are getting a little wibbly around the edges *anyway*, but when I read that I parsed it as UF-Gryphon accidentally knocked Remi off the table (why was she on the table? I dunno!), sending her hat skittering across the floor, and the resulting indignant look from Remi, the apologetic "oops"-face from Gryphon, and the snarkery from the Flandre & Co. Peanut Gallery sprang into my mind in full HD resolution.

I'll be giggling for a while now, thanks.

We all should have known it was only a matter of time before I was awake at 3:30 in the morning and this got bought.

In unboxing it, I've discovered a couple of things I didn't entirely realize from the photos online:

1) This design has four wings for some strange reason. The smaller ones are a royal pain in the fingers to install, so I may not bother. My dexterity is not what it once was.

2) Contrary to the impression given by the various retail photos, her outfit is actually pink, though it has a bit of a gradient in it and shades to white at the bottom.

3) I must remember to depict her with black fingernail polish on special occasions.

Most excellent. I really do like that figurine; it properly captures Remilia as a badass who would clearly be properly adorable if she weren't currently hell-bent on wrecking someone's day.

(...nah, she still is. That's a splendid expression)

She looks like she just figured out either the Force choke or Sith lightning, and she can't wait to share her discovery with some deserving individual.

Did you get the full priced version, or one of the bargain knock-offs? Picture looks like the pricey one, but hey maybe it's a really good knock-off.

I think that's from whatever game all the fancy alternate outfits all stem from. Who knows why they decided to cross her with some 'Be not afraid' style of angel.

She's a vampire, any sort of Goth styling is pretty much her native garb.

I believe it's genuine, although I did get a fairly decent deal on it.

Well, yeah, I know it's part of her Legend of Scarlet Devil Mansion design, but like you say, who knows why they did that? Probably just reckoned it looked more badass. Same reason that version of Sakuya is dressed like a blackjack dealer. :)

(As an aside, the Engrish text on the box identifies the figure as the Legend of Scarlet Devil Castle Version, which has a ring to it, even if it is just a mistranslation. :)

True.

Fortunately for what remains of my wallet, I at least couldn't find one of the black-dress version of this figure. Not just "for a price I was willing to pay," at all. I guess they were a very limited edition. (Never seen one of the red ones for sale, either, just that one picture from when they were announced.)
