#0, My try at the Gryph,/Shadow

I created this pic, using some flash graphics creator called heromaker.

While fiddling around I just started throwing stuff together, and eventually I came up with this.

What do Y'all think

although its probably more menacing looking than it should be

If its any good, maybe i'll try some more

There that should fix the earlier problem.

I hope

My guess would be that Geocities might get a little annoyed ad you claiming their file is not available for viewing page as your own artwork ;)

Whoa! What IS it?!

.bmp?

Compress it and I'll give it a look.

Hee. I used Heromaker to build an image of my D&D3E character, which simplified the "introduce yourselves" phase considerably. They even had the Viking horned helmet. :)

Your image isn't viewable via this link, though.

Boy, Geocities really doesn't like that linked-image thing. I was able to dig the URL out of the quoteback in your post and look at it anyway. It's not bad - Heromaker's selection of clothes for the Brick bodytype has got more extensive since the last time I used it. He's a bit burlier than I see my UF self, but I suppose the Blaster bodytype would be too tall... :)

(EDIT: Oh, that's why I couldn't find it until I dug out my old Netscape bookmarks. It's called HeroMachine.)

I don't get it either, whenever I type out the url on the forum page and do a preview, it shows up.
sigh.
Anyway, I always saw your Shadow character/perpective as being lager than the regular gryphon character, in order to be more menacing. Also the pure size of the character also comes from the Streetfigher version of Gryph who I alway saw as taller and far more bulkier than the norm

anyway let me try by messing up the url

Note the www is missing from this url!
geocities.com/dracoprimus2000/Gryph-Shad.jpg

Also for the new and improved Detian taller wiry Gryph
geocities.com/dracoprimus2000/Gryph-Shad2.jpg

Don't forget to add the www. to the urls

Now here's a fun twist -- after visiting the direct URL for the image, I hit the Back button. Lo and behold, the formerly-broken image now appears inline in the Forum. Looks like Geo's got that whole no-outside-referrers thing going on. 'Course once the image is in your cache that's a non-issue. :)

It seems to be spreading... I've had the same problem with my web-host. Pain in the patusk, isnt it.

I can't blame them - at least the 'free' web hosting companies. Nothing is free, they make their money with the pop-up ads, banners, etc. And you avoid them by linking to the images from outside. Many people were abusing their servers, using them as image stores for other sites. So folks would get a site at an ISP or something cheap with a small quota, and store all of their images over at the free server. The free servers were seeing a lot of traffic for images with referer headers from outside, so they cracked down on it.
