The GOG.com summer sale is on as you may or may not be aware of but when you first buy something during the sale you get a free copy of Rebel Galaxy a space combat action adventure game.
Rebel Galaxy is a wild west in space where your big guns are broadside only and your turrets are secondary which means you rely on your ships AI to fire the turrets while you maneuver to open fire with your broadside cannons. Shields and armour also play a part as do things like secondary weapons such as missile launchers. The game plays on the XY axis with only AI enemies and allied small craft able to traverse the Z axis. I've been playing with my Xbox One controller and it works very well which is good as it's recommended to use a controller to play the game.
Rebel Galaxy is on sale for 70% off on GOG or like I said earlier free when you purchase a game for the first time during the sale. I got Syberia 1 & 2 for 90% off which means I only spent A$2.78 instead of A$49.97.

Broken link is broken, I'm afraid. Should be Rebel Galaxy.

And, I didn't know about the summer sale so, thank you for informing.

I've got Rebel Galaxy, loved the soundtrack mostly. There are stretches where after one song finishes nothing triggers the next to play. Story is rather... well light, but visuals are good, the dynamic market is interesting and most of the time combat is hard but possible if you plan ahead. I did occasionally take exception to a job marked as 'Normal' and 'Easy' (for my ship rating) and ended up destroyed in seconds once combat started.
