I believe Perfect Tommy designed and built the Rocket Car, according to the bio in the DVD extras, which described him as the Hong Kong Cavalier's mechanical engineerign expert. How seriously you take that is up to you.

He maybe the on staff expert but according to other sources He was a student at MIT and was expelled for some reason, Although rumour presists that is was something about "midnight putting" with the Dean of Educaition's daughter. Take that as You will.
Also it has been stated that He learned to play his instrument while serving the French Foreign Legion. He also is rumoured to be a deserter from said service, but has been pardoned by the French Goverment for actions during the Black Electroid Crisis.

Pliskin, if you watch the movies analytically, really isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He's extremely noisy on two covert operations, he always goes in through the front door in any situation, and he falls for the "do-this-in-the-time-allotted-or-you-die" trick twice. He survives really only because his opponents are grandstanding megalomaniacs. Not somebody I'd want on my team, except as a decoy to prevent people from noticing the rest going through the back door.

Now Colonel Jack O'Neal or R.J. MacReady, that's different ....

Who said you had to have a genius IQ to survive? I said he was ex-special forces, but NOT all special forces exercises invovle total stealth. Jack's currently Active in the United States Air Force and is well off limits (some covenent that the US gov has with the Banzai Institute Can't say too much about it) as for Mr. MacReady atlast I heard He died in a bizarre event at one of the South Pole science stations.

He didn't say they hadn't... just that Jack wasn't associated with the institute because he's active duty, and if you think about it, heading up the SG-1 team is just as important anyway.

I didn't say either way IF they know each other, BUT Jack O'Neil really doesn't have a reason anymore to be involved with the Institute on anything other then a professional level. That and the fact that the SGC is a HIGHLY classified project that the United States Goverment wants to keep very very very secret.

There are somethings that they don't even tell their #1 Consultant.
