Ironically, Doc's latest batch contains some things that aren't all that unlikely at all.

>2) Liza Broadbank falls into the *bad* cliche of "I hate you, therefore I love you" with Kaitlyn.

I grant you it's a cliché, but I don't think that makes it automatically bad, nor do I think it comes near "least likely". Not that I'm saying it will happen, you understand, but I don't think the possibility is dismissible out of hand in this manner.

>7) Ben veers away from The Shadow as an inspiration, instead heading more towards Doc Savage.

Um... Doc, I did this back in Twilight. Weren't you paying attention? :)

>8) The CID's greatest detective? Columbo.

He'd have to requisition the rest of his name first...

Feh.

Wouldn't someone also have to requisition his clapped out 1950's peugeot 403 convertable. As you can't have Columbo without the car.

To be honest, yes. I figured you were making up some joke that used a MacGyver-name-rarity algorithm mixed with a "Captain Kirk" system to poke fun at the absense of any first name... However, now I know better, I'll never doubt you again. :)

The Usagi that Nene knew would be pretty old to be running around in a sailor costume reluctantly battling evil. Not that 80-some is particularly elderly by the standards of the early 2400s, but still. You just don't find that many mature women in that kind of racket. :)

OTOH, it's not entirely unheard of for there to be more than one version of any given archetype in a universe as big as UF's, so who really knows? :)

Actually, it probably would be the same Usagi, and just out of her teens, no doubt.
All the Senshi are going to be around 'til at least the 30th century in SM canon; they're quite immortal as is. But then again, I think they're rather thoroughly inappropriate to include as anything but random NPC personality in this universe. They just don't fit.

If memory serves -- and according to my mental ps -x it is -- then I think Usagi & Co. leapt forward in time to help their future selves. If she's not a member, then there's always a cameo/guest-shot thanks to Sailor Pluto... Or you could just use Rini. :-p

Oh, for crying out loud! That's bad. I'm foreseeing bats in your future.

And now for something completely different:

The EoJ(Experts of Justice) somehow get members of the SGC(StarGate Command/Control) on the payroll, which of cause means SG1(Strat. Group 1 ??) is now on the roster and may actually do some missions once they get Carter out of her hidyhole in engineering, Jack out of the fishing sim he's got runnning in a holodeck, and drag Dr. Jackson away from the Atlantian artifacts.

Heh... Lesse.

1) Gryph's new Asteroid Racer "Daggerdisk" turns out NOT to be the fastest thing in space!

2) Lisa admits she was wrong about Kait and the Duelists.

3) Prof. Harris realizes how wrong he is about R.Dorothy and apologises.

4) Largo's memory engrams show up again AFTER Checkmate... (BTW, it needs a re-write... you never updated it after you realized that Gryph would be resigning from the WDF after Twilight. Not a major one, but probobly just changing all referances to WDF to EoJ.)

>Dear God, anything but that godforsaken series.

Amen to that. 52 episodes, at least 26 too damn long... I recall
walking out and not watching it for three weeks of anime club once,
coming back, and finding out that, nope, nothing had changed all
that much and we were still stuck on the same pointless angst...

the fact that Eyrie is a no-Ranma/ no-DBZ zone makes me happy. If
we could add FY to that, I'd probably be ecstatic.

>And IIRC, it's spelled "Suzaku".

Yes. Suzaku, the Phoenix, and Seiryuu, the Dragon. That part I'm OK
with, as it seems to have *some* grounding in legend. The rest of
the series... gack.

Not only isn't it least likely, it's already happened.

From Christmas Rose:

"I, ah," Utena began, somewhat unsure, "I'll be with Kate
pretty much the whole time I'm here, so if she's coming, I guess I am,
too. I wouldn't want to impose on you, though."
"Ah, phooey," Eiko grunted, waving away the mere thought of
it. "Another mouth to feed means we might have less than five pounds
of leftovers this year."
"The Utoniums are out of town this year," Martin reminded.
"Ten pounds."
"And the Overstreets."
"Twenty, oh, Crom, I forgot that," Eiko groaned, putting a
hand to her forehead. "We need a bigger freezer," she whined.

Run faster. :)

I suppose I had better clarify this: yes, the Powerpuffs will be in UF, yes there is a story stuck midway through to explain them, and no, believe it or not, Washuu had absolutely -nothing- whatsoever to do with their creation.

It's bad enough we have a little pink-haired juggernaut who's going to grow up to be a cross between the Daicon bunny girl and Sandy Duncan...

Makes one wonder what Red's other kids are going to be like....

Isn't it obvious? Once they're old enough to grok Wapiko fully, they'll all become goths. Action-reaction.

Which means that when they all play together, there is going to be no small amount of collateral damadge.

Zathras' set would come with caffiene. Which is why it is very unlikely that it would happen in UF.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-10-01 AT 08:44 PM (EST)

When there is a blokade that nobody can break through, the CFMF calls in it's best captain. A legendary spaceship commander who's birth name is lost to history. The Kilrathy call him He Who Can't Be Stoped, the Klingons' codename for him is The Hammer That Smashes Through Every Wall, The Romulans call him Don't Bother, He Will Get Away Anyway, but he calls himself only... Rubber Duck.

"And what _are_ we dealing with? Little green men!?"
"No. Little green blobs in bonded polycarbite-armor!"

...

Kris Kristofferson in a badass black and silver space-rig (a la the space trucker ships from Cowboy Bebop) carrying a load of unstable energon through an asteroid field with a whole host of corrupt law enforcement chasing him and the rag tag fleet of sympathetic cargo haulers that have joined him.

Yeah, I can see that.

I agree, probably never happen in UF, but I'd change my religion to 'EPU' on the next Census if it did. ;)

And, were there were ever a snowball's chance in hell of finding my way into the UFverse, I think I just found my calling. <grin>
