I have to admire the developer of this game for devising a pitch-perfect scenario for a porn game, and then not making a porn game. Well bowled.

I...truly thought that's what this game was.

Right? But it's not! So subversive!

And slightly terrifying!

I'm inordinately amused by the art style and character designs. I can't help but be reminded of Akio's majordomo in Oriphos.

The Castellan does have certain traits in common with, for instance, Pandemonica.

I think the expression originated with cricket, but I could be wrong.

True story: I discovered it by accident, because I was poking around on Danbooru and what I thought, from the thumbnail, was a picture of Heidemarie Schnaufer turned out to be Lucifer.

And as a bonus, the dialogues from the demon girls interacting whenever you ask for help is frickin' hilarious.

And if you buy or unlock the art book, Helltaker and Lucifer will teach you how to make crêpes!

Sir, are you to suggest that a plot that reads "Go to hell, recruit harem of well-dressed demon girls" lends itself to such a thing as porn?

Rubbish, I say!

>also, the demons are cute as heck, as it were

Also, there's chocolate pancakes. Who could say no to that?

As a member in good standing of the Royal Pornographical Society, I do so assert, sir. What is more, I believe you'll find the entire Internet fan artist community will support my thesis. ;)

(As an aside, I love the fact that they're all so... sartorial. Well, all except Judgement, but then the whole point of her is to seem different from the others.)

(And also that Modeus's design is based on a sprinkled cupcake.)

"You're lucky I have a thing for pancakes."

I actually like that while a veritable cornucopia of porn* has flowed from the fan artists in the wake of this game, there's been as much if not more art playing up the various quirks of the harem. Like Modeus being weak to actual romance, the obvious doggo qualities of Cerberus, or Justice just being totally awesome.

>(As an aside, I love the fact that they're all so... sartorial. Well,

OH GOD, her level. If ever I needed proof that my twitch reflexes have atrophied, that level proved it beyond all argument.

>(And also that Modeus's design is based on a sprinkled cupcake.)

Yeah, for a game of such thin proportions, the number of jokes (both obvious and subtle) is amazing.

>"You're lucky I have a thing for pancakes."
> - Lucifer, CEO of Hell

The hilarity of it all: The person that's the hardest to recruit (Judgement) is only so because she's actually doing her job. Pandemonica just wants somebody to make coffee for her, Modeus goes along to see the rest of your harem tear you apart, Cerberus basically wants to be let out to play in the human world, Malina joins up because you promise to play video games with her, Zdrada tags along to watch her sister suffer, Azazel is along for the ride to do "research," Justice joins regardless of which dialogue you use, and Lucy jettisons her pride at the mention of pancakes.

*(A pornucopia?)
