>Anyone else playing this?

There's been so many Avengers-based games, I'm not sure.

If it's the one referenced in this Forbes article, then no.

>Anyone else playing this?

At this point, I think the question is 'is anyone playing this'. Its launch has not gone well at all.

Just to note: This game is now on massively deep discount on Steam (as in, $7.99 US at the time of writing). This is presumably on account of the fact that development has officially ceased and all customer support will end at the end of September this year, but--a bit astonishingly--before they left, the devs took the unusual step of patching the game such that it can actually keep working as abandonware. So that's pretty neat.

Not forever, of course; someone at Microsoft or Nvidia or somewhere will eventually change something that breaks it in a way that there will be no one left who understands the thing well enough to fix it or has any motivation to do so. But that is the way of all orphaned software, and hey, 8 bucks. Sale runs 'til next Saturday (May 8).

This game really confused me until I figured out that the mode the main menu defaults to isn't the story mode, but some other one that originally didn't unlock until after you finished the story. For a few minutes I thought they had actually dropped it with a patch that just autocompleted the story and started you in the post-endgame (which I think is what the mode the main menu lands on by default basically is).

So, uh, don't do what I did! If you bought this 'cause it was super-cheap and have never seen it before, hunt around in the menu until you find the "Phase 1: Reassembled" campaign and start there. Otherwise it won't make a blind bit of sense. :)

Even on Easy, this game is reminding me just how bad I am at reflex-oriented games. Just getting to the Black Widow vs. Taskmaster fight was frustrating, and I can't get him down to 75% health now that I'm there.

Nice game, but I wish there was a "I'm a Scrublord" button I could hit to just move on.
