Lemme guess Gryph, you were trying to fit every UF hero into this piece? I lost track of counting appearances.

Once again, I'm very impressed. You've put your usual style into this, and I can't describe everything I like, so I'll go for a few specifics:

1) Kate's Birthday celebrations: The presents were great work, many of them showing off the personalities of the characters. But the prize goes to Mac, with his latest masterpiece in the suffering Broadbank range. (Tribble Food! Brilliant!) Bell came in a close second with the Tiger Suit.

2) Toronto again: The concert was nice, and Rina showing up again made it even better. The whole Devlin/Amanda/Rina + Azalynn conversation over the night broke me several times. Add in another appearance by Mac and poor G'Kron (Both of whom are moving up my ranks of favorite UF characters) and I was happy.

3) Psi-cop bitch: Once again, Psi-Corps proves its stupidity. She's stupid enough to scan Kate without their permission, followed by everyone else making her suffer. Great work by Devlin and Amanda, fooling her completely. As for pissing off Mia, you NEVER piss off a Minbari. Also had a nice cameo by Truss (He lives in Australia?!)

4) Nall: Poor bastard. Going so long without Utena's shoulders. I just like all the twists and turns keeping him out of the main story line.

5) The Summer Formal: Fine quality, from Azalynn getting everyone in, to Utena getting her outfit (I knew you'd find a way to fit the Challenger into SOS somewhere) to the actual event itself. A fine example of Dorothy's changes when she took down Broadbitch so easily, plus her conversation with Miki after they leave. Kate and Juri was also interesting.

6) The ending: Oh Fuck..... That's all I can say. Things are about to get messy.

Great work Gryph

Oh, not even vaguely. I had to very strongly suppress an urge to introduce every single member of the Challenger command staff; the only way to avoid it was to leave out Utena's visit to the ship almost entirely, to be backfilled another day. Would have added another 25K or so to the story, easy. :)

>Minbari. Also had a nice cameo by Truss (He lives in Australia?!)

That's where Network 23's headquarters are. As we see, he travels a lot.

Yeah, it's too bad for him. He'll just have to make up for it over the course of the summer... :)

That reminds of something I thought of in digesting the story: I notice that Truss' UF avatar has blue hair. Is that a dye-job or can they gene-modify that in? ~_^

It's a dirt simple modification, but I don't know if it's been done that way. The real Truss is dyed.

Gene-modified. Given the opportunity, the real Truss would happily give up the need to visit the salon and wake up with blue temples once every five weeks. :)

Just the bits at the front? Or the whole lot? It was just a bit of it the one time I saw him and I was more impressed with his SoS cap at the time.

The real Truss has the back dyed black and the front/sides dyed blue-fading-down-to-purple. (The back is dyed becase I used to fo touchups in between salon visits when the front was solid blue, and I can't see the back of my head to work on it. So, I figured, dye it black -- it doesn't fade, so it doesn't need touchups. And if I get a bit of blue dye on it, it's still black.) It also allows me to put it up in a ponytail and have it look a bit less shocking if I'm in a situation where I want or need to look a bit more formal.

UFTruss, on the other hand, has a full head of blue hair.

Speaking of the Challenger, I just remembered something from the Warp Speed thread. The WDF and the Earth Alliance don't seem to be getting along. How does the EoJ fit in?

Matrix Dragon, wishing he could dye his hair like that.

Awkwardly.
