#0, Back 4 Blood

I caught the trailer the other day and my first thought was that it looks like Left 4 Dead shoved through a Team Fortress filter.

... I'm actually pretty OK with this! Though I suspect Francis hates it.

Back 4 Blood is basically the same people that made Left 4 Dead, just without the L4D copyright which Valve owns. https://www.thegamer.com/valve-turtle-rock-studio-back-4-blood/

So it's Left 4 Dead (the number Valve is allergic to)?

Clearly, using Valve's numbering system, it's Left 4 Dead 2: Episode One.

That's not really an indication of anything, though, Francis hates everything.

Wait, there was sniping in L4D? I played a lot of the first game, back in the day, and I don't remember that at all. (Maybe that's an indication of how bad it was. :)

--G.
mind you, sniping seems like a pretty pointless tactic vs. human wave assaults anyway

There was! If you picked up a certain weapon, anyway (I forget exactly which model it was but it was a single-shot rifle). But it was a two-step process to peer through the sight and the zoom reset every time you dropped out of sniper mode and there wasn't much point in sniping anyway because the director spawns enemies wherever you can't see *at that moment*, even if you took the time to plan a route and cleared it ahead of time, so...

But I feel like those issues would *have* to be addressed if there's an actual sniper class, which that trailer certainly seemed to imply.

--sofaspud
--my hours logged as the Sniper in TF2 is, uh, something like 20x greater than the next closest class; I may be biased a bit :)

Yeah, I mean, you're on the move all the time, so there's no real way to set up a sniping position and camp it without getting left behind by the rest of the squad (which would be Really Bad). Besides, it's not like the zombies have officers. All I can really see a sniper being useful for in L4D is maybe setting off Boomers before they get close enough to the party for it to inconvenience them.

It was more of a versus thing, where you could pick off a opposing special zombie player.

Back 9 Blood, a game combining horde survival shooter mechanics and golf. You and your friends were halfway through your round of golf when the shit hit the fan. Now you've got to stay alive, finish the game, and hopefully make it to the clubhouse bar before closing time.

It's all fun and games til Fred busts out the explosive balls.

"Really, Fred? Really? You're carrying explosives?"

"Hey now, I can explain! I -"

"And you didn't share?! I thought we were friends, man!"
