#0, Corr III FYI
Posted by Gryphon on Mar-28-10 at 02:11 AM
As you might imagine, Correspondence III is going to take a bit more work than the other two, solely because of the sheer amount of established material in the timeframe it covers - I have to make sure the date stamps on the messages agree with when the things that are mentioned in them have been shown to have happened in released stories, and that means quite a lot more chasing around the archives than was required in covering the 2380s or even the '90s. I've the whole of the Symphonies to deal with there, along with everything else - the latter half of the first decade of the 25th century is pretty densely packed with stuff that is liable to at least come up along the way.

So, slower going, but I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't fallen off the beam just because it's taking longer. It's just that the work is a lot more fiddly. I'm up to '04 now, and that's when things start to get really involved.

I remember reading something once about Rome not being built in a day. I'm sure that applies here...somehow...

I'd much rather you take all the time you need, and have it turn out with the same degree of excellence we're used to seeing in your stories, than have it rushed and not be good enough to satisfy you.

I was looking at the chronological story list, and it's just amazing, the massive amount of story points covered (everything between Aegis Flora 2 to WOR, non-inclusive). And many of those are just so major it's probably hard for you to pick and choose (else Correspondence III might end up as massive as one of the Symphonies!)

Still, that quick scan made me wonder - just how high on the best seller list is Bacon Comics' The Adventures of Captain Tenjou (or whatever title it was ultimately given), and is there a "Bacon Jr. edition" as well (Remember kids, even if you are a galactic hero, you still need to do your schoolwork!)

I was musing about that a while back. I imagine it's Archie comics-style. The "gang" cruising around space performing acts of derring-do...And eating hamburgers.

"Hamburgers?"

I object.

Utena loves to cook, sure, but I have a feeling she understands the primal pleasure of getting your 'burg on.

Indeed! Especially since we would be talking MADE burgers, not BOUGHT burgers. Right?

I know, right? I like Pete's conversation, but I figured that they would just about be the most perfectly crafted specimens of the type. Whomever would represent Jugghead in this BCG title would probably coin them "A quarter-pound of Heaven on a sesame-seed bun". I mean, this is Keptin Tenjou we're talking about. How many variations of ground beef on bun do *you* think she's capable of? :)

...quite possibly AkioBurgers...

Edit: As soon as I posted this, I realised that it was a mistake. AkioBurgers would be finely ground *ham*, after all...

That sounds like the chain of restaurants Akio would open in an attempt to frustrate The Tenjou.

I wish people would get this in the other order, just occasionally. Seriously, I think you just accused Utena and her friends of harboring cannibalistic tendencies, and, I mean, what? Why does everything that happens around here arrive in Disturbing Shitville sooner or later?

I blame 4chan personally.

That said, I hadn't even thought of that interpretation until you mentioned it. Might be I was too busy snickering at 'AkioBurgers' as an Infernal fast food joint, with Touga wearing some lame employee uniform (with silly hat) and looking like he had just stepped in the dog's leavings.

What I was actually thinking was that Utena's grandest ambition was, at one point, to leave Akio as a single greasy stain, to grind him into a pulp on the floor.

Although my mind can go to some very dark and depraved places, I would not dream of suggesting that said duellists would be cannibalistic. Mind you- while various forms of undead have risen from the Grave, the Tomb, and (naturally) the Dead, I have never heard of them rising from the Alimentary Canal.

That would be a good name for a watercourse in New Avalon. Maybe along the back of Restaurant Row in the City Center.

If true, that raises unsettling implications about the incidence rate. :)

Man, I don't post anything, ever, because I don't feel like I have something original to say.

Then again, if the entire internet did that we wouldn't have one.
