"S-s-s-swing doors up. Ok doors--swing..." Sorry, first image that came to me.

If you haven't tried it, get a bottle of melatonin pills. You should be able to find them in the vitamin/herbal junk section of a grocery store/drug store/health food store. They're better than sleeping pills because they don't knock you out, they just help you relax, and you don't get hooked on them. I use them to help me change gears when I have to switch to graveyard shift or when I fly east and need to go to sleep at a certain time to beat jet lag. HTH.

I had no luck with melatonin. A former co-worker said it triggered
an alpha state while he was still awake, and put him right under.

I have a prescription for Ambien, and it works wonderful for me.

Over the counter sleep pills don't work for me, and just make my
prostate swell up.

Maybe its the Muse of Twilight trying to hammer through your writers block?

Another thing to try is some Turkey... Plenty of L-Tryptophan, also a natural sleep inducer.

And here I bet you thought those hordes of people sleeping in front of the TV was because the football game was boring. ^_^

Get a bottle of cold beer, a couple of sleeping pills and a bit of pipe tobacco. Knocks me out every time, especially with Borkum Riff. Also, have you tried music?

Nirvana puts me to sleep. Or at least mellows me out.

What? I'm a cynic.

The other activity that puts me to sleep requires a partner, and, no it's not Axis and Allies.
