Desolation Angel audio is up, and the audio for Star-Crossed and Manhunt have been re-linked (on the subpages and out in the Exile index). Reorg-reupload of other audio items affected by the Great Migration (e.g. Symphonies 1 & 2) still on to-do list.

Very cool. However, the two parts of "Maiden in the Ice" have their names truncated, with a resultant filename collision on download.

... how? One's filename starts with "02", the other "03".

<goes back, looks at download directory>

Oh, my error. I grabbed them with a bulk downloading tool that had an automatic filename prefix leftover in its settings from a previous download, and I thought the number from the original filename was an auto-increment it did as part of the prefix. (Which is something I occasionally use.) I should have looked closer before raising the objection. My apologies.

Ah, OK. No harm done, I was just mightily confused. Any namespace collision would've happened on my end long before it ever got to someplace where anybody else could see it.

If anyone's technically curious, the files as uploaded are straight out of my iTunes library (with the "keep library organized" setting turned on). I use the track number/"disc" number fields to curate multi-part titles like Symphony movements (so S1M2 Wounded Rose, for instance, is "disc 2" of the Symphony No. 1 "album"). It's not a perfect system, but it works fairly well for keeping the multi-parters straight.

I'm very entertained. My friend Michelle and I will be listening to the sounds of Eyrie as we cruise along the roads on our vacation.

Excellent - I'm looking forward to listening to Royal Progress. Thanks for the update!

Well, I ask because, even by slack-springtime standards, there's been this sort of eerie silence. Even what traffic there's been on the DA thread has been mostly about the parts that were already out or the format of the compilation itself. It's a bit unnerving.

I enjoyed "Royal Progress", I just don't have much to say about it. No deep insights to share. Nothing that came to mind seemed worthy of spending expensive electrons on.

In my case, that's because I usually burn the MP3s to CDs and play them in the car as my wife and I make our morning commute, and I haven't done that yet. In fact, Peggy's just made it clear this morning that she'd rather have me read it to her than you, Gryph. Sorry.

I'll burn'em for myself sooner or later and get back to you.

I enjoyed it a lot, but haven't really had much to add beyond "That was a lot of fun", tho I do feel for Princess Katara, given what seems to be coming down the line.

I am quite entertained, actually. I'm just not good at expressing it.

No, I am entertained. I just have never seen the source material. In a very real way EPU *is* my source for the media aspects of nerd culture.

And the terrifying part is how well, just from the stories here & forums, I can talk to other geeks about stuff I've never seen.
