#0, The Road Not Taken: Manhunt

If I had only known about this particular historical quotation at the time, Valeris's revelation at the end of the Woody Creek scene in Manhunt would have taken a different form. Instead of just saying "puppies" in her sleep, she would have sat up, made direct eye contact with Spock, and said in a very calm and matter-of-fact manner, "A strong smell of turpentine prevails throughout."

(And then passed out again.)

As an aside, I have to say that the OTHER quote that sort of pops up if one goes searching through that link is very thoughtworthy, at least, and quite possibly IS the sort of wisdom that the turpentine isn't.

Sir Humphrey Davy inhaled nitrous oxide, apperently in the presence of a friend or at least with someone there as control, and, well:

“With the most intense belief and prophetic manner, I exclaimed to Dr. Kingslake, ‘Nothing exists but thoughts. The universe is composed of impressions, ideas, pleasures, and pains.'”
