At the top level of the International Police Organization's Special Assignment branch, the Experts of Justice, it's not entirely unknown for an agent to have a hard day at the office that leaves behind unanticipated consequences.

Someone forgot to tell Geoff Depew it wasn't a competition.

Doing it today was special to me, as I came out publically two years ago today on my Facebook.

It was about time for my UF self to catch up.

I love stories like this. Magical transformations where the subject feels they've reached their true self are my jam. Congratulations!

This was a really good read, and I'm glad you shared it with us considering how meaningful it seems to be for you. Your avatar's always been a character I've enjoyed here from the first appearance in CSI, and I've been hoping we'd get more of a glimpse at Agent Dantes' work.

Considering she's had plenty of opportunity to throw that punch, I wonder if Sara Sidle's holding it back because it's actually on her bucket list. Or her list of things to do when she has her villain phase, like all with superpowers inevitably do.

I think it’s along the lines of when she got frustrated she would tell him “I still owe you a punch in the mouth for you threatening me,” and now it’s a running joke between the two of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if she'll need one for an infiltration op sooner or later. But just getting one to get one doesn't seem like her.

I suspect Jen would have appreciated a bit more say in the matter, at opposed to getting a sucking chest wound and waking up with a different chest. But it turned out all right in the end.

Glad to see it wasn't *wiggle hands suggestively* exploitation, but thought out story of bringing fiction in accordance with realty.
Also, good story.

This has been percolating in one bit or another for the better part of a year. On the other hand, can I write a story exploiting myself?

Well, there's a lot of debate in situations like this. Do you use the date Logan became her mentor, the date of the gunshot, when she woke up, the date she just stopped and went 'oh. OH!', the list goes on...

... for some reason that I've been unable to pin down, I'm getting the strangest (and strongest) sense of deja vu here. Like, to the point where I was searching the forum for this story, because I swear I've read it before.

But no, it looks like this is the first time it's shown up, the timestamps don't have the weirdness I've come to associate with zombie threads that got suddenly edit-resurrected... nothing except my admittedly-fallible memory is saying this is old rather than new.

But! All that said, glad to see Jen making her debut. Kinda looking forward to her teaming up with Sister Destiny, just because I liked their dynamic before and I suspect I'd like it even more now.

A traditional benediction from my people is in order.

Great story, enjoyed it a lot. Heartwarming to see how many people turn up when G.D. is incapacitated - she's really come a long way from the solitary serial murderer days!

A couple of typos and such, but they don't detract much from the effect.

Once again, grats on the Gender to both writer and character.

I told Jen when she was writing it that the first scene reminded me of something I remember a character saying to Batman once, although the details of who and in exactly what context have escaped me--something to the effect of, "For someone who thinks he stands alone, you have a huge family." :)

And so, in the NEXT story, Jen uses the Zip .22™, then? What with that particular story never materializing, I mean?

I am of course joking(though, it would be hilarious to actually see that one at some point), and just wanted to say that the story was quite lovely, in all sorts of ways.

Came across this one recently, and it's going to be used when someone from Big Fire thinks "Well, Hellbringer's going to be easier to deal with now..."

---

So I heard you’re back in town
And haven’t changed a bit, man
You get off talking down to the little man
Time you get what you deserve

Wow, you’re so fucking stupid
Been a while since my head was this polluted
Lucky I know my own worth

So you wanna fight me, are you big enough?
Kick the back of my knee, are you serious?
You keep on trying but
I like your blood on my teeth just a little too much
So bite me, slap me round the face
Now I’m twisting your arm 'till I hear it break
I get stronger everyday, yeah

Little girl gone, got a gun from a gangster
Run little girl, run little girl, bang ha

Say that again, I didn’t quite hear you
Messed with the wrong bitch in the wrong era
I been at work and I got my badge of honour
Honey I’ve changed so much since I last saw you
Hands off my hair, how very dare you
Ding ding, hold my earrings for my debut
Cos I pack a punch backed into a corner
Come at me, don’t tell me I didn’t warn ya

Did you think I’d be easy?
Snap me like bamboo?
Mould me into the soul of your jackboot?
Wish I could bottle the taste
Cos I’d drink up that look on your face

So you wanna fight me, are you big enough?
Kick the back of my knee, are you serious?
You keep on trying but
I like your blood on my teeth just a little too much
So bite me, slap me round the face
Now I’m twisting your arm 'till I hear it break

Little girl gone, got a gun from a gangster
Run little girl, run little girl, faster
Little girl gone, got a gun from a gangster
