I have been remiss in my Sluggishness. I lost track during the Gwen wars, and I've been reading Kevin&Kell, Megatokyo, and Avalon High so much I forgot.

UF just sort of lost my interest.....

And we're not supposed to notice (from left to right) Miyu's assistant Larva, Speed Racer's monkey under Larva's cloak, Unten Seven leader Hazanko of the Kay Pirates, the "Gum[sic]buster" poster, B(ii|-)ko in her Akigiyama-23 armor, and -- is that Lupin chatting up the pointed-ear lady? It's the right grin and hairline, though the piping is all wrong...

But where's Waldo?

And let's not forget the "Otakooks Bar" marquee in the background...

He's sharing a six-pack with that damn monkey (never can remember his name)under Larva's cloak.

I myself wrote, quite a while ago:
>And we're not supposed to notice [...] Unten Seven
>leader Hazanko of the Kay Pirates [from "Outlaw Star"] [...]

On second thought, upon consulting my reference screengrabs, mister-begging-for-alms-in-a-kilt doesn't *quite* look like Hazanko: his helmet (collar?) is too pointy, there are crescent horns instead of stubs, and he doesn't have the huge seesaw-flukes-conning tower fins with the earrings. Also, no yin-yang on his chest. The face and nose match in their pointiness, though.

"Lookit me! I'm so mean, I don't even need to move my arms. I'm so evil, I can Nasty.)dress like a tent. I'm such a bad-a**, I can wear a hat like a submarine trimmed for Christmas, and are *you* gonna make fun of it?" (Admittedly, the guy *did* claw his way out of a miniature black hole... #13 Caster shells. Nasty.)

Yes, and you can see Vash the Stampede just behind Yuri. (Head above the crook of her elbow.)

I know that it is the Manga That Must Not Be Named here, but the guy in the middle with the map and the lost look is definitely Ryoga from Ranma 1/2...

I'll be damned, those fanfics were right. He really can get lost between dimensions.

And speaking of Ranma 1/2, what's so bad about it? Sure, it may be a bit corny at times, but so is Animaniacs, and that's here!

Um. Yes. But Animaniacs is a) clever and b) funny.

It's not anything "wrong" with Ranma.

It's that Gryphon has emphatically declared, by editorial fiat, that Ranma Characters Will Never Appear In Eyrie Fiction.

You mean that aside from it being a lame show?

I'm in the 'Why the hell is Rumiko Takahashi popular anyway?' camp. I think UY and Ranma are lame. Mildly amusing - but once you've seen an episode, that's plenty...

Now, I liked her Rumik World stuff - wish there was more of that... And that the 'Mermaid' works would hit DVD.
