Actually realized that one of my favorite quotes from the series originates from there too, that being Doctor Yamashita's speculation as to where exactly DJs gotten to. Hadn't actually clicked until the other day.

Heh, that line (or references to it) has taken on something of the character of a running joke, not only in NXE but also in UF; it is, for instance, why the lowermost deck on the Valiant (where the secondary cargo holds are, including the one the Art of Noise use as a rehearsal space and occasional recording studio) is called the Lido Deck.

Heh. Well, it's a good comment! Sort of tells it all, right there.

When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me...
But they try.

Question:did/do you add that by hand? I've seen others around the place with the smaller font comment both inside and after the .sig, and I can't figure out how one would do that? Not really important, just that I've had the curiosity nudge me a few times and thought I should ask.

From the Journal of the Earl of Langleycroft

Whenever I smell asphalt, I think of Maya. That was the last sensation I had before I blacked out - that thick smell of asphalt. And the first thing I saw when I woke up was her face. She said she'd fix my giant robot. Free. No strings attached. I should've known then that things are never that simple.

Yeah. When I think of Maya, I think of two things. Asphalt... and trouble.

I do, yeah. The preset part of my sigblock is only the Five-Fingered Hand of Eris and below. Everything above that, I do by hand. The small text is just bordered by either [small] or [font size="1"], usually the former.

I could fiddle with the internals of the sigblock itself just as easily - there's a radio button in your user preferences, "Make signature editable for each post?", which drops your sig into the edit box so you can fiddle with it at will, and I have it turned on - but I usually don't. Presumably that's how the people who do do that are doing it.

Heh. I'd like to SEE that! And, that reminds me of something else that's been wondering me...are the Minis just for UF, or...? As they're placed under the UF grouping. I'd love to see Minis in other worlds, as it were.

There've been at least one apiece in NXE and Warrior's Legacy, and a scene from the rather-delayed Iron Age #4 came out on that board as a sort of pseudo-mini, but it's not a common enough thing to be worth making separate boards for it. (Also a handful for the late, lamented City of Heroes and one or two miscellaneous-subject ones; I did one making fun of the starting premise of DC Universe Online, for instance, which is on the Misc board.)

Which brings something ENTIRELY diffrent to mind.

Well, point. I have now read the one about DCUO and the semi-Green Lantern. (Semi-green? What, like teal?). I liked it, though I must say that, had it been me, those characters that decided to stick me with that ring would have had thoroughly busted noses, at the very least. Even with their powers.

And, amazing what playing a game and noting two quotes will get you, in general posting and subject drift.

As a bit of helpful advice; anytime you see someone on the forums do a fun formatting trick and you think "Man, I want to do that to, but I don't know how?"

Hit "reply with quote." The quoted post will show all the HTML that was used to, say, fiddle with text size, or add color, or make a table. You can just copy that and then mutilate it for your own purposes.

This technique (although with right-click and "View Source" rather than "Reply with Quote") is how many, many web designers got their start back in the day. :)
