I was going to sit on this until Phil had a chance to color it up, but you know what, having received it today, I just can't.

So, courtesy of Phil Moy and Doc, here's a little moment in time with our close personal friends, Commander Virginia Shepard and Richard B. Riddick (and special guest star George).

If you're familiar with the way the Mass Effect games handle alignment, you'll understand why I had to call this one Paragon & Renegade.

And you'll be seeing it again, oh yes. :)

Sweet.

I actually picked up ME2 a while back on the strength of the works written involving it, and have not in any way regretted it. I'm glad to see it find a home in UF.

Back in the day, they used to get into these epic SMS loops. If the WDF's internal comms division had charged for text messages on a par with, say, Royal Salusian Telecom's rates at the time, they'd have owed a small fortune after that shore leave on Onsen Prime. Get two giddily intoxicated combat veterans with text-capable communicators on opposite sides of a bamboo wall and you end up with an hour and a half of

Aw, that's mean. Riddy's not a sociopath. Sociopaths lack empathy and social conscience, can't form friendships, and are incapable of loyalty except to themselves. Their defining feature is their utter callousness. Riddick's just violent. :)

Heh, yeah, I'm very pleased with his appearance here. True story: in the reference photos of Wedge's parents' dog Lucy (yeah, the model for Riddick is a girl dog; so nu, most Lassies were boy collies), that box on her collar is some sort of electronic fence or anti-barking device, I forget which. I forgot to mention in the image spec that the artist could disregard that, so it appears on Riddy in the resulting art. No idea what it is there. Wedge suggests it's a vocoder. :)

Great art, as always, from the trifecta of awesome. The postcard formatting is beautiful, that's exactly how I saw it in my head. PJM's coloring is always improving. Very cool stuff.

There's an RSS feed of the What's New page (it's linked from there and also the front of the site). I don't use RSS myself, so I don't really know how it works, but it's there anyway. Dave worked hard on it!

This whole thread is turning into "Gryphon solicits credit for the rest of the team", given that I had nothing to do with the actual making of the art (apart from designing the spec and gathering up reference data) or the RSS feed. :)

I double-checked the What's New page, and sure enough, there is an RSS link. D'oh. I never did catch the RSS bug; I'm actually trying to spend more time *away* from my computer, than in front of it.

I see this trend continuing, albeit without much success, now that I'm enrolled in college...

C'mon, dude! Part of a director's job is calling for a round of applause for the hard-working team that let's him get the work done. I think it speaks volumes about this peculiar subtype of geekery that there are so many talents committed to it's success.
