Nice little extra. I imagined it to be a bit more humanoid, but this looks rather impressive. I like the little touches like the wheels.

*Sigh*

I guess I've got CBT on the brain -- when I first saw it, I tried working out the battletech game stats for it.....>_<

Ain't that hard. A pair of LRM-15s, a large laser, and an AC/5 for weapons. 60-70 tons with 3/5/3 or 4/6/4 movement. Piece of cake. Everything else is just details.

Looks like a modified Mad Cat on rollerskates :D

You could easily build it off of a Mad Cat chassis.
Sadly, Maximum Tech does not have rules for BattleMech rollerskates.
What I hashed out for the Inner Sphere is actually rather similar to an ARC-5R Archer.

Interestingly enough, I felt it looked more like a Locust myself; I was pleasantly surprised to see that G had managed to evoke an Image in my mind that was very very close to what he clearly saw.

Why a locust with arms? Well, those 'shoulder pods' clearly are SRM-2's in multiple launch tubes, the chin weapon is an AC-5 and the arm weapon would be a machine gun.

It was the big shoulder pods that evoked the Cat for me. But then, I haven't even LOOKED at a BT book in years, so it's not impossible that there's a better model.

Great pic, either way.

Er... sure, except for the fact that, if you look, it's only about 10 feet tall. And has no energy weapons. And is not a 'Mech.

You might be able to render a 717 adequately as a ProtoMech - I gather, from what little I've read about the new CBT rules, they're sort of battlemover-ish - but I couldn't really tell you, not having seen the actual rules for PMs, just the hype that they've been added.

Hadn't noticed the scale indicator. I was mostly doing a quick eyeball conversion. What I suggested would look like a scaled up version of the 717.

Yeah, you might be able to do it as a ProtoMech but I can't do that off the top of my head.

Well, Protomechs are the stage in between Battlearmor and light 'Mechs -- so they are either overgrown BA or runt 'Mechs, depending on your view.

(For those who have no idea what we're talking about, try http://www.battletecharchive.net/history/protomech.html)

I happen to have the Techreadout they first show up in....

Eeeeenteresting. What with the small size, fiddly details, and the wheels, I'm getting a sort of Armored Trooper vibe here.

Or a Gear from Heavy Gear, it just lacks the V-engine.
