Well, I just finished .45 and I was entertained by the caveat at the beginning (paraphrased): "Caveat: This piece is subject to my ebbs and flows of inspiration even more so than my collaborative works... (This explains, for those who encountered the story under its original title on the In Nomine mailing list, why there's been no Chapter 7 for a year. Take heart, it's coming, it's coming... ) - Benjamin D. Hutchins, January 31, 1999"

I am amused, not because it is 2014, but because I KNOW exactly how this feels.

So I then dug in and I must say, I was very impressed. You can see the different tone and flow compared to the more collaborated works. It captured a very reto noirish vibe extremely well to me. Reminded of Spencer for Hire and and Mike Hammer.

I was entertained. So thank you!

It's not just the collaborated works. You can see hints of it in NXE around the same time.

It's, I think, my favorite of the side works (not NXE or UF), narrowly edging out HL (Although the scene of Zoner rigging GOD through the plane is was pretty awesome). There may be some bias here because it's set around my hometown (the Bay Area), and I loved me some In Nomine but fierce, but I honestly don't think so. I liked the way that Marleal deals with people in almost exactly the same way that Jake does.
