So! My other fanfic place got a writer who got into strange mood and decided to do the thing. Rebuild Of Exodus - thing.Haven't read it yet, and it's only a prologue at this time, but I have only good things to say about the writer.

I admit, he expressed intent to write it as crack/parody, but that does not preclude Gideon's writing from being good. And NXE needs some self-awareness...I expect results to be at least very interesting.

I mean, the only valid reason there's a "Rebuild" of the original is because of all the lovely, lovely money. Absent even that motivation, riffing on something that was a riff in the first place... it's like trying to win an argument with someone by breaking into his apartment years after he's moved out and yelling into an empty closet. --G.

NXE is one of the earliest Eva fics, and it shaped fandom. It's important to look into the past, see what went well, what went great and what went terrible, and then attempt to improve.

1) It's so poorly written (IMHO) that I couldn't really be bothered to read the whole thing, so I just skimmed it.2) As far as I can tell, this has absolutely nothing to do with NXE - NXE isn't a SI fix (in spite of its detractors who keep insisting that DJ is one) and this looks like it's just another NGE rewrite fic. So I honestly don't see what this has to do with anything EPU related... Offsides [...] in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles.
