Kudos to EPU on this one. Barrel o' Character here, and a wonderful writing job. I was surprised at first at how large a family EPU, et al. was willing to introuduce in this one story, as most of the later writing not counting UF Core seemed to center around smallish groups of characters. I was never dizzied by the scenes with more than five or six characters in it, nor did I feel that the characters were one dimensional (Although, until age was mentioned, I kept wondering why Priss and Sylvie aren't accompanied by their metal friends). I guess the only character that I felt was lacking was Gai...Guy...whatever. Hopefully he'll get a bit more than a bit part in upcoming arcs or stories.

Two things:

1) I don't figure Zoner...but who does? I'll wait until the next story to se what's up there.

2) Utoniums?

3) More Swordplay!!!! (Yes, I know I said two things...the same way DNA had a fourth book in the trilogy).

Personally, I'm looking forward to what has to be an inevitable scene:

Nall and Ein meet.

I'm not even going to speculate, I'll just wait and see. :)

Too late, I've already got some very funny mental images. Is this arc home to the unique animals of UF or something? Personally, I prefer the dragon (Big surprise there.)

Matrix Dragon
"So," said the cat. "How'd it go? Were you smoooooth? Is the lady impressed? Is there a torrid romance in your future? Do I get kicked out of your room?"
"Shut the hell up, Nall," said Corwin grumpily.

I actually put a lot of work into trimming things back, given that Christmas is a time for gatherings of friends and family, and over the years, the Wedge elders have accrued a lot of those. What appears in CR is about the absolute minimum that would simply have to be present - people whose absence at this time couldn't be explained, like the kids, who are all still too young to have left home, and so forth. You'll notice a lot of the neighbors and the Roses' adopted brood have all split the scene, and Corwin's mother is coming to visit on Christmas Day (that'll be in A Rose for the New Year), but she's not bringing her sisters and their families too.

(Actually, I omitted Corwin's aunts for two reasons: one is that Aunt Bell has a sizeable family of her own at this point and it would have gotten very confusing; and the other is that Corwin really really does not need his Aunt Urd around right now. She'd smell the change in him in an instant and be all over trying to help, which would be bad.)

Got to pay attention to those date stamps; Christmas Rose is in 2404, Cybertron Dreams in 2412. :)

Guy is generally overshadowed by his sister and her best friend - he doesn't have much of a choice, given how forceful their personalities are, especially Sylvie's. Plus, he's behind them on the development curve 'cause he's a boy. In a year or two, when he hits the upslope and starts coming into his own, he should break out of that, and by the time of Cybertron Dreams he has his own arc that I'll get around to showing one of these days.

Nobody gets Zoner, baby - he's the wind.

>2) Utoniums?

What about them?

>3) More Swordplay!!!!

There wasn't anyplace to put more. There'll be some in New Year, though, oh yes indeedy. :)

OK, Poll time... How many EPU fans are going to be at CastleCon? *raises hand*

In case anyone wants to meet me, you can look in several places: Dealer's Room (Ask for Offsides/Radar/Josh at the Mystic Station Designs table), Game Room (I'm co-GM'ing a couple of GURPS Traveller games among other things), or at the panel "Tech Support Nightmares" (basically a bitch session :)...

I'll also be running around doing various other things, usually with a cellphone on one hip and an FRS radio on the other...

Well, bugger all. I KNOW you.

Do you still have the 'Dwarf: The Other Hard Tack' button I gave you? (Or was that someone else at MSD... names blurred at EveCon...)

As I read that I realized that I recognized your real name... Yes, that is me, and yes I do still have it (and I know Kory was wearing his the last time I saw him :)...

Well, I always knew it was a small world :) (Kinda like the person I met at Balticon who went to HS with my 3 sibs - we were humming "It's a small world after all" all weekend... :)

I guess I will see you at CastleCon then... :)

P.S. YOU get to tell the story of the buttons... :)

If I'm not mistaken, the Powerpuff Girls and their professor "Dad" (or some strange analogues thereof).

You know whats annoying...Just as I scrolled to your response, the name 'Professor Utonium' came to mind and I knew who it was. I hadn't even read your post yet. Oh well, thanks for the response!

Oddly enough, my two favorite E.G. Daily appearances: Streets of Fire and Better Off Dead. Maybe I just like her young (though not as young as a Powerpuff Girl). <grin>

Politics? No. Just a number of relations in the judicial system. I gave up politics for New Year's.
