[All three bits are here! --G.]

A while ago, commissioned artwork hunter extraordinaire Doc Mui asked me what I'd like to see some of our usual suspects do circa Anime Central. I got to thinking about it, and eventually ended up envisioning what, in older times, they used to call a triptych - three illustrations that tell a story.

So I wrote up specifications for the three parts and sent them off to Doc, and he rolled up his sleeves and went to work. And here they are, pending whatever post-production the in-house EPU art department may do on them later on. Together they summarize the story of Dan "Captain Photon" Hudson and Jen "Gen. Rossum/Torch of Victory" Rossum in three parts.

  1. "Before I Kill You, Captain Photon... "
    Artwork by Phil Moy
  2. Take My Hand
    Artwork by Denise Jones

  3. Answering the Bell
    Artwork by Jeff Moy

  4. (Yes, the title of the first part is a reference to a Cheapass Game. Sue me. :)

Answering the Bell is funny, and I suspect my own characters have been there before. Take My Hand though... once again, I really wish there was a 'redeem your villain' story arc, I would so love to see that happen (As in, the other Jen being rescued).

Admittedly, the third one's funny because I can so see that happening to your average hero at Paragon....

But knowing Jen's history, the second one's just so damn cool.

Up 'n' Away? Yeah, they're 'real' - you see their ads in-game.

Edit: Blah, spelling.

Heck, you see the stores in-game, though, alas, you can't go in.

Here's Siberion, the friendly Soviet super-robot, in front of the one in Atlas Park.

I have the reprint of it ("James Ernest's Totally Renamed Spy Game"), but everyone in my group calls it "Before I Kill You, Mr. Powers" (mostly just because of my way-too-accurate Dr. Evil impression ^_^)

There is no love more pure than that found between the crushing walls, spinning blade, or filling tank of a deathtrap.

You know it, man.

Perhaps not so oddly, the only member of Dan Hudson's immediate family who would really understand that is his grandfather - the one who fought crime in the '50s as the Neutron Knight. :)

No, but then, he was married before he had his origin, and I suspect there may have been times during his fairly brief hero career when the marriage was... strained. It's sort of an extreme version of the "you spend an awful lot of time with $COWORKER" effect. :)
