With their brief introduction in Twilight and their presence in Christmas Rose, are there plans in place to see the origins and goings on of this noble family?

Who are you? Where am I? Where's the entrance to level seven?

Plans? Sure, there are plans.

Why does this leave me with a vague 'Head for the hills!' feeling?

Good. That's all I wanted to know.

Who was wondering when Tenchi Muyo! was going to make an impact on the UF universe.

I know better to ask what plans THOSE are. But answer this... I keep feeling I should know Capt. Shannon from somewhere earlier in the UF series. Is this true, or am I halucinating?

Indeed. Earlier in his career, as Commander Shannon, he was the gentleman having the extremely surreal and trying day in the middle of Twilight 6.

Thank's Gryph. I KNEW I'd seen that name before.

He was also one of the escort Y-wing pilots from Rite of Passage... I think.

Blessed be.

Well, it's obvious, isn't it? :) (Or stated more politely: "my theory is...") During whatever era* the Masaki Shrine in Japan was inundated with female aliens, Tenchi eventually chose Ryoko over Aeka. (Or possibly he was horribly killed and chose no one.) In either case, the princess spent the next few centuries in shocked, ego-bruised seclusion, mostly hiding under a quilt and munching snackfoods.

Eventually she re-emerged, went on a psychiatrist-recommended vacation, and met Robert Shannon. (On the rebound? Owch. Poor Rob.) To marry him, she then went AWOL, or officially abdicated her place as First Princess. --Her father, Emperor of Jyurai, barely consented to her choice of *Tenchi*, his own great-grandson. How easily would he accept a mere human? (Question: is RS a detian? And in the UF continuity, do Jyuraian royalty have multikiloyear lifespans?)

So (in this theory), Tenchi Shannon is *not* the wielder of Sword Tenchi, and Achika is *not* his fake-daughter-from-the-future (as seen in one of the three movies).

Why do we not hear of the "Tenchi" goings-on in the main arc? Easily overlooked and off-stage. (Except maybe for the _Soujya_ exploding in near-Earth space.) I say "whatever era" because UF has already set the precedent of relocating *another* bunch of rather-noticeable-XTs away from the Wedge Rats' pre-1992 terracentric tenure: the awakening of the Transformers.

While... er, interesting... that theory is also completely wrong. Thank you for playing. We have some lovely parting gifts. :)

Yes; and yes. Captain Shannon joined the WDF during the first post-First-Contact recruitment drive on Earth, in 2000, and won Omega-2 for doing something hideously heroic some time thereafter; the details are probably not important, and at any rate may be told someday, maybe.

I'm now officially frightened. First Washu, now Ayeka. This does not bode well. Anyone care to place bets on whether or not Mihoshi, should she occur, will take the title for 'most unintentional collateral damage'?

Except we spell both of their names differently, and Aeka is Tenchi's mother. :)

Details details;) and I thought that her son was simply named after her <lost|former> love, but I seem to be mistaken there.

Well, someone has to take over the reign from Kei and Yuri since they now work with the IPO/EoJ... ^_^
