#0, You wouldn't do this, whould you Gryphon?

I just had a thought...

"The Tenth World is in a mess," Eris told him (Megazone), "and the
Council of the Aesir are still trying to figure out what to do about
it. They'll probably end up sticking some poor jerk with going there
and finding out as a Trial of Ascension."

and later on...

I'm (Corwin) being trained for full godhood; in
another year or so, I'm not sure exactly when, I'll be called upon to
face my Trial.

You wouldn't do this, whould you?

And why do I think your reply would be an innocent whistle?

(btw, how does one display square brackets for this board?, I tried and, under preview, it just ignored them, so I switched to parens above, for pronoun reference)

A: "What is the difference between a fighter and a warrior?"
Q: "The warrior is defeated, especially at higher levels."

Oh, sure, I would. Whether I will or not remains to be seen. :)

Check the HTML Reference; there are special codes you have to put in to get the square brackets to appear as themselves. DCF isn't ignoring them - it's assuming you meant what was between them to be an HTML tag, then your browser is disregarding them as meaningless.

I'm not worried, since SOS is set in Worchester and not amoung the Freespacers.
:p

<div style="nitpicking">

I thought we were talking about SotS, which is set in Worcester and New Avalon, with flashbacks to Cephiro.

So, if I'm to understand your question, you're wondering whether or not Ben would have:

a) The sadistic, "I'll do it just to get under the audience's skin" tendencies of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
b) The semi-sadistic, "there's a reason for it" style of JMS
or c) The attitude of "I'll do it because it's just kewl and I don't care otherwise" attitude of some *really* bad writers.

Choose wisely, grasshopper. <grin>

(and note that at no time do I actually say "yea" or "nay.")

I think I'll take option b)
