#0, It's Dead, Jim...

Wulp... earlier today on her return trip from Houston, my mom was about to hop onto Texas Highway 151 for those last magical miles home when Gossamer, her 2000 Toyota Sienna, threw a rod with absolutely no warning and with no provocation.

Here's the trouble. Mom's got a lot of sentimental value built up in the vehicle and we need operable wheels, fast. So, if anyone knows where we can snag a halfway decent engine for a reasonably low price, then please let me know! We already got someone that will drop it in for a song, we just need an engine.

Shouldn't be too hard... for quite a few years Toyota has had the same single engine option for the Sienna.

I can't speak specifically to the Houston area, but I'd try cruising the local junkyards.

Working off the fact that there's a Texas chain called Pick-n-Pull, the Internet gives me their local (to Houston) chain is GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers. Can't vouch for them, but it's a start.

Wish I could help, man, but you're about three states too far to the left for me to do much more than cheer you on. Kinda sucks, cause all my brothers are grease monkeys and my nephew has Connections for stuff like this.
