#0, A reminder of Wounded Rose

A while back, I was attending a presentation on electric railways, and it turned to the Toronto transit system. The presenter started running a slide show and describing scenes. He put up a picture of an intersection and announced "And here at the intersection of Bathurst and College..." I had to stop myself from laughing as I got a sudden reminder of Our Heroes' desperate attempt to find Sneaky Dee's back in "Wounded Rose" at the start of "Symphony of the Sword." I was suddenly reminded of it all over again when I started rereading the series.

Sneaky Dee's is real! I walked past it a couple times when I was in Toronto the other summer. At the wrong time to go in and catch a show, alas.

(I'll just move this here, carry on)>Sneaky Dee's is real! I walked past it a couple times when I was in >Toronto the other summer. At the wrong time to go in and catch a >show, alas. Fair warning to anyone who might chance to do so: the real one is pretty much nothing like the fictional one inside, as far as I know. (I actually based the interior of S1 Sneaky Dee's on a long-defunct joint in a different city.) --G. -><- Benjamin D. I found it in Google Maps Streetview a while back. All I could think of was "surreality level rising..." ;)-- Unable to save the day: File is read-only.

And I missed all my chances to eat there during my visits to Toronto over the last near-20 years. Also real: the shoe museum, and the Marche Movenpick. Both great places to spend time.
