I've finished the first version of a subpage for Challenging the Cold Silence under the main Legacy of Korra page. There's not much there yet, apart from the two promotional excerpts you've already seen, but the design gives you a flavor of what the cover looks like and the page's copy itself contains a brief quotation from Asami's preface to the book.

Future promotional clips (the next one maybe as soon as this weekend, if you're good and eat your vegetables), and possibly other pre-release materials, will appear there (and be mentioned here and flagged on What's New). And, of course, once the book is actually finished, that's where it'll be released.

(As an aside, the page will look best if you have the font "Futura Bk" on your system, but it's not required.)

Excelsior,

Yeah, OK. New subpage by itself: not that exciting. (And never mind that it's the first time I've gotten even a rudimentary style sheet to work. :) Have to hold my hand up to that.

How about a new subpage with a new in-universe promo?

(No, we're probably not going to be able to do this every week. We'd eventually just end up serializing the whole thing, which would be a bit silly. There might be some new graphics later, though!)

HAH! That was spectacular. I really have to bow in respect to Korra for the sheer amount of patience and forbearance she's been able to obtain over her life (and this is still pretty early on, on a relative scale). I don't think, in her situation, that I'd even have gotten through the second of those; much less a few dozen.

I approve of Bolin embracing his inner buffoon.

It's made even better when you realize that, as a famous comic actor with genuine combat chops, this development makes him basically earthbending Jackie Chan.

Which suggests that somehow, somewhere, THEY MUST MEET.

I'm gonna be imagining Bolin with a glorious mustache for quite a while now. I approve.

The turtleduck. Am I wrong in imagining them as similar in form and function to the koopa-troopas from Mario?

I couldn't tell you, but it's about what it says on the tin: a flightless duck with a turtle shell. They're often found in decorative ponds, particularly in the Fire Nation.

Not precisely the same, but close enough for government work, as they say.

Elkdogs showed up! This makes me happier than is probably healthy, in that it makes me happy.

Seriously, though, I'm not as big into Korra as other EPU dwellers and Asami are, but I am hyped beyond measure for the full book to show up. =]
