For an unrelated reason, I want and re-read the TF2 Featured Document, and something caught my eye. The engineered disease that is the premise behind the Division 1 and 2 games is nicknamed the Green Flu. I suspect there is no deliberate connection, but...?

Green Flu is indeed a reference, but it's to fellow Valve game Left 4 Dead. ISTR the one in The Division is called the Dollar Flu (because it was weaponized by putting it on money), even though it's established in the game as a variant of smallpox.

It is, but it's also known as the Green Flu/Plague/Death because "greenbacks" and such.

But, got my answer and it was as expected.
Asking since Division is on my mind. Well, games are on my mind. Amazing how you can get "video game withdrawal".

Yeah, I don't know why they call the zombie plague in L4D the Green Flu. Maybe because of Boomer bile? Although that's more yellow...

If I had to guess, I'd say because zombies are usually green in pop culture.

Overacting aside, goes like this:
You buy a new computer. New computer completely spits the dummy inside of 6 weeks of purchase. And you then spend 3 months back-and-forth'ing with the store that blatantly lies that, "oh no, nothing wrong with it. Work fine in our tests."

It in no way excuses the shop for being sketchy, but I'd bet the lies are partially motivated by all decent video cards being unobtanium of the highest magnitude recently. So if your PC needs a new one of those, they likely couldn't provide it even if their lives depended on it.

I personally blame Elongated Muskrat for that. His tweets and company's investment have sent hype for those things through the fucking roof.
