The Art of Noise feat. the Temple Island Fire Ferrets, with special guests Baron Zoria & his Circle of Horns and Avatar Korra: Live-and-unannounced at Rockbender Records on Telegraph Ave. in Republic City, Xinqiliu, Liuyue 12, 291 ASC (Saturday, June 12, 2410).

Man, it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My muñequita
My Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You're my reason for reason
The step in my groove, yeah

And if you said, "This life ain't good enough"
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth

And it's just like the ocean under the moon
It's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Gimme your heart, make it real, or else forget about it

Well I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it'd be a crying shame
In every breath and every word I hear your name
Callin' me out
Life in the barrio
You hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world
So soft and slow
Turning you 'round and 'round

And if you said, "This life ain't good enough"
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth

And it's just like the ocean under the moon
It's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Gimme your heart, make it real, or else forget about it

And it's just like the ocean under the moon
It's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Gimme your heart, make it real, or else forget about it

Probably not, at least if Kate's doing the dedicating. Given the reference to tides in the chorus, my guess would be that in this instance it's meant for their guest guitarist. :) (The locale specified in the third line may thus become someplace other than Spanish Harlem, but then Kate often does that when they play "Smooth" in concert someplace other than, well, Spanish Harlem.)

Speaking of which,

I found Korra's guitar.

Obviously it was originally a two-tone Sunburst, but somebody painted it Korra blue... a long time ago. I imagine when rock 'n roll instruments first came to Dìqiú, 80-some years before Try Again, you had to take pretty much what you could find. Custom orders and local production came later.

"Oh hey! You found my guitar! Where was it?" "The attic." "What the - I'm sure I looked there." "They do that..."

Hm. I wonder who the Dìqiú equivalent of Mona Lisa is?

Avatar Yangchen would probably like to believe it's her. She's also probably wrong. :)

Heh. Muñequita isn't the best rhyme there either, and is another word that a local audience in Dìqiú would probably have a bit of trouble with, but hey.

Besides, do bear in mind that Kate is a student of the Lehrer ryū of samurai rhymes.

I wonder what she'd think of Mitch Benn, he of the following verse:

Everybody knows ain't nothing rhymes with orange
Doesn't matter how much imagination or ing-
enuity you use, even words that are foreign j-
ust better let it go, ain't nothing rhymes with orange

Probably not much, but w/e. =]

FiMFiction.net: we might accept blatant porn involving the cast of My Little Pony but as God is my witness we have standards.

There's a small part of me that dearly, dearly wants The Art Of Noise to cover Mitch's rock opera rendition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I am much less ashamed of it than perhaps I should be.

Well, heck, they've covered Bill Bailey's "The Leg of Time". Anything is possible, however improbable.

Stand up, hold my hand, I hope you understand
Here where time is still, I walk the hill
Stand here close to me, here for all eternity
I wait as others will, I walk the hill

I held you then, I hold you still
I held you as I always will
You can have my heart to fill as I walk the hill

Stand up, hold my hand, I hope you understand
Here where time is still, I walk the hill
Stand here close to me, here for all eternity
I wait as others will, I walk the hill

I'm not as strong as I am told
It feels too long since I was bold
You can lie in sheets of gold if I walk the hill
You touch me and I understand:
We only write our names in sand
I can stand where legend stands if I walk the hill

Stand up, hold my hand, I hope you understand
Here where time is still, I walk the hill
Stand here close to me, here for all eternity
I wait as others will, I walk the hill

I'm not as strong as I am told
It feels too long since I was bold
We can lie in sheets of gold if I walk the hill
You touch me and I understand:
We only write our names in sand
We can stand where legend stands if I walk the hill

Stand up, hold my hand
Stand here close to me
Stand up, hold my hand
Stand here close to me

Stand up, hold my hand
Stand up, hold my hand
