LAST EDITED ON 10-04-02 AT 06:54 PM (EDT) >Only a truly soulless, cruel personality could dislike a fuzzy little >bundle of love like that... :) > I could probably work myself up to not actively disliking a cat or dog as long as it remained stationary in an unobstructive position, on those occasions it was within two yards of me.Needless to say, most of my relatives have cats, dogs or both. Even more unfortunatelty, my brother (who is terrified of dogs for reasons I don't know) and I apparently have expressions/postures that cats and dogs find irresistable to the point of climbing all over us. I wish I had that effect on women.

Ah ha, right... what about cats that understand english, try to talk and have decided that your house, is its house even though it lives elsewhere. As that is the cat I have to deal with and it's the only one I like. >Dunno if the same goes with dogs, but I could imagine so. Don't no, I haven't delt with many dogs and the most of ones I have either treated me as a object to ignore or a playmate. --Rod.H "I'd rather have a cheetah to a dog or cat" |

Unfair! Truly unfair! Especially to those of us who are forced to get our doggy affection second-hand. In other words, I envy in your general direction, Gryphon. That's the kind of dog that looks like it was just made for sneaking into the bedroom at night, slipping out in the morning to chase after rabbits, and otherwise enjoy the good things of life with.

Heh. Regal doesn't sneak; he barges. His Honour considers sleeping on the bed with the human part of the natural birthright of beagles. (In fact, there are times when he seems to think that the only flaw in the plan is the fact that the human takes up so much space.) If he's staying with me in the camper and I have the temerity to go to bed without him, he just jumps up and walks around on me until he finds the top of the covers, then reverses course and burrows right on in. Then he starts his campaign of encroachment until he occupies at least 51% of the available surface. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Then he starts his campaign of encroachment until he occupies at >least 51% of the available surface. :) That's nothing -- my cat, Smokey, who is currently staying with my father, can take up an entire twin bed on her own. If it's just her, you might have a chance of finding a place to sit; if, however, my niece's cat Butterfinger is also seeking to make use of the same bed, then the only way you're getting on that bed is by physically moving the both of them, who will then promptly climb on top of you to reacquire the same relative positions. -- Sean -- Rabid Crack Weasel #42 "All tribal myths are true, for a given value of 'true'." -- Terry Pratchett Drelau Productions The Broken Link

Then he starts his campaign of encroachment until he occupies at >least 51% of the available surface. :) Sounds like my mother's dog (1/4 wolf, 1/4 Malamute, 1/2 Blue Heeler). If she goes to bed without him, he does about the same thing, except he preceeds it by giving her a reproachful, betrayed look. But the encroachment definitely sounds the same. Right now he's feeling especially reproachful, because my mother has acquired a border collie pup, who seems to believe that anything he can do, she can do, too. Two dogs in the same bed, each trying to control 51% of the bed, makes for dogs getting quickly booted out for the night...

> NXE is a bit lacking in the talking-cat department, though. Well, just drop a line to the geneticists who did such "apparently random" things as making Pen-Pen, and I'm sure that deficiency could be rectified in no time at all! Back to the matter at hand, yes I believe Amy's character is distilled from Sailor Mercury, and in one of her early appearances I believe there was a brief description of some of her friends that bore a resemblance to the other Sailors. They never directly interacted with any of the pilots and I believe they eventually moved out of the city as the angel attacks wore on. ------------- Lead me not to temptation, for I can find it myself. Actually, Mina (Minako Aino) was Asuka's friend, and Serena talked to the pilots...but no, they were bit players at best. And no, Amy will NOT change into Sailor Mercury and save the day :P That'd just be silly. :) Besides, if I had to guess, Gryph would claw out his eyes, deep-fry french fries in the nude, and eat a dozen live bunnies before he'd let that happen. :) |

They were deeply frightened that the Angel War was going to become a cooperative effort of NERV and superpowered teenage girls in silly costumes. When I got done laughing, I reassured them that I hadn't any intention of doing things that way - I just needed a few extra kids not connected with the save-the-world initiative, and I happen to like the cast of Sailor Moon more when they're at their day job. Amy's part ended up a bit bigger, but then, I'm particularly fond of her; she's the sort of girl I'd probably have hung around with and secretly hated the boyfriends of at that age. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D.
