"Walter Lord's book in NXE"
|
[ From the UF board... --G.] >>And, IIRC, you borowed the entire book in NXE. I'm not sure what it >>does to the appropriatness of the thread, but wasn't there a copy of >>"A Night To Remember" in NXE? > >IIRC, it was DJ's. And then he either lost or misplaced it and just >about every other major cast member read it at some point. I've >forgotten exactly who ended up with it, though. Seems to me he loaned it to Rei, who loaned it to Jon, who left it on Misato's desk, who left it on Ritsuko's desk, who left it in the Wedge where it was found by Asuka, who loaned it to Truss, who loaned it to Maya, who left it on a worktable in the techdiv labs where it was found by Makoto Hyuuga, who loaned it to Shigeru Aoba, who left it by the sink in the Terminal Dogma washroom, where it was found by Otto Keller, who left it on his desk where Gendou Ikari found it. Or something like that. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Hutchins, Co-Founder, Editor in Chief, Netadmin Eyrie Productions, Unlimited http://www.eyrie-productions.com/ |

>>Do not taunt Happy Fun Baal. > >Happy... >Fun... >Baal?? Who's giving the Lord of Destruction what >controlled substances? :) He's parodying an old SNL commercial for a toy called Happy Fun Ball. The 'comercial' ended with a scrolling list of 2 or 3 dozen warnings, including "Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball". Other warnings were: - "Happy Fun Ball contains a liquid core which, if ruptured, should not be touched, inhaled or looked at." - "Happy Fun Ball may suddenly accelerate to great speeds." - "Discontinue use if you begin suffering from ... (a dozen or so symptoms including heart palipatations)" - "Happy Fun Ball contains a glowing substance that fell to earth, presumably from space." ------------- Lead me not to temptation, for I can find it myself. Well, whoever had it (IIRC, Gendo gave it back to DJ), and whatever order they had it in, I hope they all had time to actually read it. An excellent book, maybe the definitive book on the subject. His many-years-later follow-up The Night Lives On is quite a good read too. Regards, Jeanne http://www.jhedge.com Anime/Manga Forum: http://go.compuserve.com/Anime |
